Okay, maybe not every time…but it seems like most of the time when we make plans for the family to get together with our friends, one of the kids gets sick and we can’t go. I think I’ve missed out on seeing my Connecticut friends the last 3 or 4 times they’ve all gotten together because of this. I know with 3 kids the odds of one of them being sick at any given time (especially in the winter) is probably astronomical, but sheesh. It’s getting ridiculous!
We’re supposed to go to a BBQ with friends this afternoon, but Maggie is *so* droopy. We did a Costco run and she fell to sleep in the car on the way home. She never does that any more! She’s had a fever off and on for the past few days and her poor nose is still redder than Rudolph’s (and very sore!)
Tomorrow we’re supposed to go see the above mentioned CT friends…I’m seriously hoping that she’s better by then because I really miss them. It’s been a long time since we’ve all gotten together. . . or should I say, since I’ve been able to get together with all of them.
And I had to cancel Maggie’s very first singleton-friend-coming-over-without-a-parent playdate on Friday because of this ick she’s got. She was crushed. (She was pretty pissed about not going to school as well…)

Candid Carrie sponsors this one – head over to her blog and find LOTS of links for bloggers who’ve joined in! (You can join in too!)
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve played along…I’ve missed it! 🙂
These pictures were taken on Monday. I’d just gotten a package (the contents of my Giveaway!) that was secured with long, crumpled pieces of packing paper. We had much fun decorating them.
(Maggie didn’t want her picture taken…)
Some other things that happened recently…
Maggie’s first nosebleed was a few nights ago. It woke her up out of a sound sleep and scared us – but she was a trooper and just sat with us until it stopped.
Logan was stung by a wasp a two Sundays ago…inside the house! We’re not sure where the thing came from, but it was crawling on Logan’s leg when I noticed it…a few seconds too late. The poor guy still has a red spot on his leg where it got him.
Don’t forget to enter the Yoplait yogurt Get Active giveaway! The Deadline to enter is March 30th.

Goddess hosts Thursday Theater. Wanna join in? Go add your name to the list!
This week’s theme is OMG: Anything that made you say, “OMG, I have to get this on video.” Whether unbearable cuteness, ungodly messes, a clever new trick, or something that just screams “document me!”
Yep. I got that. We pulled out some things from the dress-up box on Monday… and even Logan wanted in on the fun.

Burke (and Daddy) sing the “Logan and Burke” song…while Logan (dressed in a tutu he refused to let me take off of him) beatboxes in the background.

And just so you get the whole picture, here are a few still shots.

Sorry, this giveaway is now CLOSED.
Look what arrived on my doorstep from MyBlogSpark yesterday:
A free sample of Yoplait for Kids yogurt
and a Yoplait Get Active prize pack!
Just look at the COOL stuff in the Get Active prize pack! There’s a beach ball, a jump rope, a water bottle, a soft-sided insulated lunch box, a Frisbee, trackball, paddle ball, and a coupon for *FREE Yoplait Kids yogurt!!
*Apparently this coupon offer for a free six pack of Yoplait for Kids yogurt is not valid in some states, including Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota and Tennessee. Sorry 😦
My kids were so excited. First, yogurt is one of the only healthy things Burke asks for…and then requests more of when he’s polished off the first container. We always have kid’s yogurt in the house. And then both Burke and Maggie were calling “dibs” on the stuff in here, so you can see how desirable it is to kids. Although, I have to admit that Mike and I were excited too because we both had trackball sets when we were growing up. LOL
The best part? I get to give away THREE of these to my readers!! How do you enter to get one, you ask? Lots of ways! You’ll get one entry for each of the following if you:
(Feel free to use this link: http://tinyurl.com/dzl54p for numbers 3 and 4 above.)
You have until midnight on Monday, March 30th. Random.org will choose the winners and I’ll announce them at some point on Tuesday, March 31st.
P.S. If you don’t win one of these prizes, you can still go here to print a coupon and learn more about Yoplait for Kids.

Literally.
The minister from our former church paid us a visit last night. And when I say last night, I mean he showed up at the door at 8:45. Unannounced. Uhm…really? And he stayed for about a half hour.
The thing is…he doesn’t know that he’s our former minister. (Read about my struggle and my peace.) We haven’t been to his church in two weeks. (We actually didn’t go to church yesterday because I was feeling really crappy and Logan has/had? Pink Eye.) He didn’t ask why we haven’t been at church. Church didn’t come up much, actually. As per typical, we heard a lot about how wonderful he is. (*sigh*) And honestly, as the last part of his visit dragged on, the voices in my head kept screaming “SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UUUUUP!!!!!!!!” (bad Nancy 😦 ) I guess that reinforced that we’re doing the right thing by going to another church.
The other awkward part of it all is that he brought toy cars for the kids. He’d been mentioning for a while that he had some – after Burke brought a bunch to church one day – and that he’d drop by to give one to Burke. He even set up a time with Mike to come by on a Monday (about a month or two ago) and then never showed up. I was THIS close to handing them back to him, but I totally didn’t want to get into it. Plus, if he HAD dropped by when he said he would – we wouldn’t have been looking for a new church at that point…right? I suppose we’ll just send a thank you card and leave it at that.
Do you think he’ll get the hint if we aren’t there next week? Or do you think we’ll get another visit? And if we get another visit do we let him know that we’re going to another church? Even if he doesn’t ask? Blah.

This week is all about the potty. I know I have some great ones of Burke on the big potty butt nekkid, but I’m not going to post those 😉
Logan is curious…
Well past the “training” stage…

For a few reasons…
The good reason:
The What A Card family came over to play today!! We had a great time in the back yard – the kids were all playing together and Burke gave a running commentary for who was who, and who was playing with what toy (and who actually owned the toy). Mike grilled up some grub: Pork chops, kielbasa, hot dogs, chicken, green beans, zucchini, and Potatoes. YUM. What A Card herself brought some very yummy cup cakes for dessert. A wonderful afternoon. 🙂
The not-so-good reason:
I’m off to try to finish up Breaking Dawn (Book 4 in the Twilight Series)

Logan had his Early Intervention evaluation yesterday. Four very nice young ladies came to “play” with him and evaluate every aspect of his development. Burke and Maggie went through this as well, so I knew what to expect.
Logan had a blast with all the new “toys” and all of the attention (and with no siblings to take things away!) He wasn’t feeling 100% (still isn’t) and is majorly congested.
Anyway…long story, short – He qualifies for services. You have to have at least a 30% delay in at least one developmental area to qualify. Obviously, I wasn’t surprised that he qualified – I wouldn’t have requested the evaluation if I didn’t think he needed it, right? 🙂
I AM surprised at how far behind his speech actually is. Remembering that he’s 18 months old, he checks in – for speech – at 5 months. Yikes!! That’s more than a year behind! Given that he wasn’t feeling well, I could make some excuses … but what the ladies saw is pretty much what he’s got.
In the other areas he’s either right on schedule or well above. (Apparently, he’s a very social kid – his social skills clock in at 24 months heh) Luckily, the ladies are “excited” by his type. Meaning, they can totally tell that he understands that he needs to communicate, and HOW to communicate (that it’s a two-way thing), he just lacks the ability to create the actual sounds to communicate. They say he’s a bit of an oddity because he’s got intonation for things (like, he’ll intone “Thank you!” when you hand him something or “Up, Please.” if he wants you to pick him up…he just doesn’t say the words), and apparently that’s a bit ahead for his age. (Making scoring him a little bit of a challenge.)
They were impressed when a ball rolled under the table and out into another room…and he looked under the table, but didn’t follow the ball. He went around the table to get it. They were also impressed by how he holds a crayon – apparently little kids aren’t supposed to be holding writing utensils correctly yet 😉 And they loved his reasoning skills – figuring out how to get his juice that was too far away, but on a washcloth by pulling the cloth.
Smart kid! We just gotta get him talking.
