Madagascar 3 Party!

“Dat dat dadi da ta da ta circus, dat dat dadi da ta afro, circus, afro, circus, afro, polka dot, polka dot, polka dot, afro.”

.

Ya. That’s my ring tone right now. 🙂 Makes me smile whenever anyone calls. 🙂

Anyway…Crowdtap sent along some neato information and stuff for having a Madagascar 3 party! I had a lot of fun planning for it, and a lot of fun at it. I mean…the kids had a lot of fun at it! 😉

We, of course, had rainbow (afro) wigs!

I put streamers up under the canopy to look like a circus big top 🙂

We had bubbles that came in bottles with animals on the top and I made zebra cupcakes 🙂

Family Poker Night

Mike had his poker buddies over the other night so we happened to be talking about it in front of the kids. Burke asked to learn…and since I’ve never actually played before, I thought it might be fun too!

We’ve had a few Family Poker Nights and they are fun! We’ve had to stop allowing the kids to raise their bids though … holy long games when they’re allowed to just plop penny after penny (out of Daddy’s penny jar!) into the pot.

The Little Guy is Winning

McCormick Grill Party

Did someone say Grill? And Party? Mike must be involved!! 🙂

Crowdtap sent a  big package with all sorts of cool seasonings and sauces in it. So Mike set to work and made: hot dogs, burgers, chicken, pork chops, and potatoes. The burgers were the BIGGEST hit. He made them with the Molasses Bacon seasoning and they were *so* good! (Someone even asked where he bought the burgers, LOL!)

We had 48 people here. Yes. *48*!! In all honesty, since it was all in the back yard, it really didn’t seem all that crowded. And since they’re all my friends, everyone got along fantastically! (I have to admit…I was a bit worried since it was people from all areas of my life!) The kids were all fantastic. The older ones were entertaining the littler ones – and actually enjoying it 🙂 At one point, I believe Logan had all of the 6 year olds held “hostage” up in the tree house with his tiny little water gun. that was empty. LOL!! That kid. 🙂

Jumping, Pizza, Cake … X2

Maggie had two birthday parties to go to today. Luckily (??), both were at the same bouncy house-type place because one ended 15 minutes before the second one started.

Burke and Logan were invited to the second one (Logan’s first time at such a place – he had a blast!).

But that meant Maggie’s day looked like this: Jump, pizza, cake, slight rest, jump, pizza, cake, chuck cookies.

Prolly should have seen that one coming…

Saturday Snapshot 2: Spinners Game

Tonight, we’re at the Spinners Baseball game!

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Go over and have a look at what others are doing on this beautiful  Saturday.

Saturday Snapshot 1: Twins Club Outing

This morning, we’re at my twins club summer outing. This place is awesome!! Picnic area, man-made pond (it’s more like an in-ground pool with sand all around), spray park, and playground!

Unfortunately, it’s now also the site of Logan’s first bee sting. (But we’re still having fun!)

Saturday Snapshot: Cheesy Good Times

Chuck E. Cheesy that is! A good friend introduced us to the world of Chuck E. Cheese today. No, I’d never been before…no, Mike had never been before…no, my kids had never been before. To say that they had a blast is an understatement. And the fact that I could play Skee ball totally made my day 🙂 (Just don’t go for the food. Seriously.)

You Know You’re Working From Home If…

  • …Noon rolls around and you’re still in your PJs.
  • …3PM rolls around and you’re in sweats and fuzzy socks/slippers.
  • …You realize it’s been a few days since your last shower.
  • …Your heart stops whenever a co-worker mentions video conferencing – even if you know they’re joking (see bullets 1 – 3).
  • …Your “Lunch Hour” consists of running your kids to and from school and/or various programs.
  • …All of your meetings are held with your phone on mute – unmuted only if you’re asked a direct question – just in case a kid starts to yell/sing/etc. from downstairs.
  • …You suddenly realize that talking on the phone (adult conversation!) isn’t really all that bad.
  • …You forget to pay the nanny because you didn’t realize it was Friday.
  • …You get picked on for using a travel mug for your coffee. (Hey! A lot can spill from the kitchen to the office…and I drink my coffee pretty slowly; a travel mug keeps it warmer longer 🙂 )
  • …You’re asked to do all sorts of things during the day (help out at preschool, playdates, etc.) because everyone thinks you’re just playing with your kids anyway…

Saturday Snapshot: Brunch with Friends

The awesome What A Card invited us over for Brunch today. YUMMY!

The food was great, the company was wonderful, and I’m pretty sure that all of the kids had a really good time…and you should have seen/heard Logan wailing on their drum set 😉 I wish I had gotten a picture!
