When I logged into my Fishful Thinking Ambassador’s portal this morning, I saw two things that made me smile.
The first was my name on the list of winners for the week. (Who can’t use an extra $50 around the holidays??)

And second was a Top Idea mark for my post on Saturday!
Not only does receiving accolades Make My Monday, but being a part of such a wonderful community does as well (probably even more so…)

I realized that my kids are starting to understand a lot more than they did when I first started with Fishful Thinking, so I browsed through the website looking for some older activities that we could do on this rainy Saturday …and found the Treasures Box one!
We ended up with treasures like “The sun shining” and “A full moon” and “Getting a card in the mail” and “Ballet Class” and “Drawing class” 🙂 I can’t wait to see what else they come up with! (My contribution so far is “All 3 kids helping to clean up!”)
As an added bonus, this is also helping me to prepare for a presentation on Fishful Thinking I’ll be giving to the parents and teachers at Burke and Maggie’s preschool this week. 🙂

I just love Maggie’s hair. If only she’d let me … you know, BRUSH it. I also wish I was a bit better with that whole “doing” of hair, but I’m not. Not mine, not her’s. Maybe she’ll let me practice more as she gets older…

Just the other day I was thinking, “Hm. I haven’t seen many blog award posts in a while…were those just a fad? Has everyone been through them all?” And then…BAM! Debi from Who Says Eight is Enough gave me this cute award! Thanks Debi – it really means a lot to me 🙂
Have you “met” Debi yet? She has about a million different blogs and has about a million different projects going on. She also has 9 kids! I’m not sure how she does it, except for that I’m pretty sure she doesn’t ever sleep…

- I’m actually pretty shy, and never really feel like I belong when I go to new-ish places – even though I know I have every right to be there … like PTO meetings and church.
- I fell off my diet and have gained 5 pounds back. *sigh* And have zero motivation to get back into the swing of things.
- I’m constantly worried that I don’t pay enough attention to my kids…or that one of them gets more attention than the others…
- I can eat an entire bag of potato chips in one sitting.
- I’m torn between my love for our house and town and wanting to move closer to where I grew up.
- I’m a complete “home body”, but I miss the days of game nights out with friends.

- …Noon rolls around and you’re still in your PJs.
- …3PM rolls around and you’re in sweats and fuzzy socks/slippers.
- …You realize it’s been a few days since your last shower.
- …Your heart stops whenever a co-worker mentions video conferencing – even if you know they’re joking (see bullets 1 – 3).
- …Your “Lunch Hour” consists of running your kids to and from school and/or various programs.
- …All of your meetings are held with your phone on mute – unmuted only if you’re asked a direct question – just in case a kid starts to yell/sing/etc. from downstairs.
- …You suddenly realize that talking on the phone (adult conversation!) isn’t really all that bad.
- …You forget to pay the nanny because you didn’t realize it was Friday.
- …You get picked on for using a travel mug for your coffee. (Hey! A lot can spill from the kitchen to the office…and I drink my coffee pretty slowly; a travel mug keeps it warmer longer 🙂 )
- …You’re asked to do all sorts of things during the day (help out at preschool, playdates, etc.) because everyone thinks you’re just playing with your kids anyway…

On Sunday, I was walking up the stairs to put Logan down for his nap. About 1/3 of the way up, he dropped a sticker and pointed to it…so I turned around to get it for him…and lost my balance. Logan and I tumbled down the stairs and landed on the appropriately-named landing. I believe I said “Oh!” as my (thankfully very cushioned) bum hit that bottom step.
Being a mom, I tried to shield Logan from any bumps…which I THINK I did…he may have squished a finger between my elbow and a step, but that’s it, and it wasn’t bad. I KNOW it scared him. Hell – it scared me! (Nothing a little Elmo BooBoo couldn’t fix for him though.)
I’m not quite sure what I did to myself. I think I hit my elbow on the window sill …and then the upper part of the same arm on a step or two. (Some nice bruising there.) I have a few bruises on my bum, but nothing major. And I can’t tell if I hit my back or just wrenched it while twisting to get Logan out of the path of … well, me. I know my neck is tender because of the tensing up part…
Thank God nothing is broken – on either of us! I’ll take a little tenderness if it means that Logan was spared all of the pain.

Yup – another Dragonfly post.
We had a GORGEOUS day today…so out came the grandaddy of all dragonflies. Daddy helped catch it, but Burke’s the one who decided to let it go after a while. And all of that Makes My Monday.
