Gorgeous

Just the other day I was thinking, “Hm. I haven’t seen many blog award posts in a while…were those just a fad? Has everyone been through them all?” And then…BAM! Debi from Who Says Eight is Enough gave me this cute award! Thanks Debi – it really means a lot to me πŸ™‚

Have you “met” Debi yet? She has about a million different blogs and has about a million different projects going on. She also has 9 kids! I’m not sure how she does it, except for that I’m pretty sure she doesn’t ever sleep…
GorgeousBloggerAwardThe Gorgeous Blogger Award

By accepting this award I am required to tell you six things about myself that you don’t know and then award it to six other gorgeous bloggers.

  1. I’m actually pretty shy, and never really feel like I belong when I go to new-ish places – even though I know I have every right to be there … like PTO meetings and church.
  2. I fell off my diet and have gained 5 pounds back. *sigh* And have zero motivation to get back into the swing of things.
  3. I’m constantly worried that I don’t pay enough attention to my kids…or that one of them gets more attention than the others…
  4. I can eat an entire bag of potato chips in one sitting.
  5. I’m torn between my love for our house and town and wanting to move closer to where I grew up.
  6. I’m a completeΒ  “home body”, but I miss the days of game nights out with friends.

And the 6 gorgeous bloggers:

  1. What a Card
  2. Cheryl at Twinfatuation
  3. Heather at Want What You Have
  4. Nicole at Sotoriffic Twins
  5. Nancy at Southern Blessings
  6. Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings

Lemons and Lemonade

Tanya, over at Mike and Tanya’s Corner of the World, sent this my way. Very much appreciated after yesterday’s lemons. Thank you Tanya! πŸ™‚ Funny – her husband’s name is Mike and she has a son named Logan. All she needs now is twins πŸ˜‰ (Okay Tanya – I know…Logan and the single 4-month-old is probably enough for now, huh? LOL)

Fist, give some blogger-love to the person who gave it to you. (check!)

Second, nominate 10 of your favorite blogger buddies.

I saw this award on someone else’s blog (Debi’s?) and she explained what it meant to her. I’m going to copy that…It takes a creative, hard-working kid to make a lemonade stand work. And if you keep at it, you’ll succeed. This is what I think of. So, I’m going to list 10 bloggers who represent these qualities. You may have gotten it before, but I’m too lazy to go look *grin*

  1. Cheryl over at Twinfatuation
  2. What a Card
  3. Heather at Want What You Have
  4. Heather at Thoughts, Ramblings, Dreams, and Ponderings
  5. Goddess in Progress
  6. Julie at The Other Boufs
  7. Bia at La Dolce Vita: the sweet life with three sons
  8. Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings
  9. Mommy, Esq.
  10. Giovanna Diaries

(If you happen across this post before I leave a comment that you have an award, sorry – it’s that whole lazy thing going on again.)

Oh, and an update about yesterday’s lemons…The lady’s insurance guy called this morning. He was quite nice and asked questions about the “accident” – I’m guessing to see if our stories matched..? But nothing about my insurance – so I’m sure there will be another call coming.

Honestly

A big thank you to Heather at Wanting What You Have for passing this one along to me. It means a lot to me since I read her (very honest) blog all the time.

As usual, there are rules that you agree to when you accept this award:

“When you receive the prize, you must write a post showing it, together with the name of who has given it to you, and link them back. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in their content or design. Show their names and links and leave them a comment informing that they were prized with ‘Honest Weblog’. List [if you can and/or dare] at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!”

Ten Honest Things About Myself:

  1. I don’t shower every day. With 3 kids and a full-time job, I just don’t have the time to!
  2. I go through life fearing that someone will “find me out” – that I’m not supposed to have a master’s degree, or that I shouldn’t really have the job I have, or I’m not really the person people think I am…Something like that. Not sure why, but there it is.
  3. When I’m at work, I want to be with my kids. When I’m with my kids, I sometimes want to be at work.
  4. I never feel like I fit in. There are lots of places that I go to where I have to remind myself that I really DO belong there.
  5. My friends often use me as a reality check because I’m so honest with them.
  6. I’m not a creative writer. Technical, sure. Autobiographical, well – you’ve seen that here. Creative, no.
  7. I could sit on the couch and watch TV (with my computer so I could blog) all day. For days. And not be bored at all.
  8. I’m a life time member of the Girl Scouts. There was a time in my life when I was embarrassed to say that I was in the Girl Scouts – not any more! I’m currently inactive though – stopped being a leader when I had the twins. I’m pretty sure I’ll be sucked back in when Maggie gets to the right age though. πŸ™‚
  9. There are times when I wonder – in passing – if I suffer from depression. I took a psychology course though, so I know from experience if I start looking up “symptoms” – every single one will apply; but it doesn’t mean that I do.
  10. It’s really hard to come up with 10 honest things when my entire blog is pretty honest…

Seven Blogs I think of When I See the Word Honest:
(not that I don’t think that all the blogs I read are honest…)

  6. Jane at Baby Squared
  7. VP of Domestic Affairs

I’m Kreativ!

The award is written in Portuguese. Since I only know a little bit of Portuguese, I’m going to have to trust that this is an accurate description of it. πŸ˜‰

The Snazzy Blog Award

This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY – nearness in space, time and relationships!

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I passing this award on the following blogs:
