Another Logan Update

Logan had his Endocrinologist appointment this morning. (EARLY! 8 am!!) Dr. Endo went over Logan’s previous lab results and growth chart with me so I actually have numbers and meanings! (Except, I’m not really sure what all those numbers actually mean πŸ˜‰ )

His IGF-1 number (the growth hormone) is 45. Ideally, it should be between 51 and 303.

His IGF-BP3 number is 2.8. This one’s fine as it should be between 0.8 and 3.9.

His ESR is 26…which is “medium high” since it should be between 0 and 15. This number elevates if you’re sick though (and Logan had just gotten over pink eye and a cold).

SO….more blood drawn (and more donuts promised) to recheck those numbers. We’ll get those results and have a follow-up in 4 months.

Dr.Β  Endo isn’t actually too worried. He figures that the appointment in 4 months will be the last one and then Dr. Pedi will just need to keep track of Logan’s growth charts.

We’ll see!

Saturday Snapshot: New Shoes!

It took 2 stores to do it, but all three kids now have shoes that fit! Maggie is going to need to learn to tie her shoes…I’m a little afraid πŸ˜‰

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Go over and have a look at what others are doing on this rainy Saturday.

Friday’s Fotos: Logan’s Milestones

Logan pooped in the potty yesterday!! (No, I didn’t take a picture of that! πŸ˜› ) He’s super proud of his sticker chart though.

Logan's Sticker Chart

Another thing I don’t have a picture of (bad mommy) – he’s been drinking from a “big boy cup” (non-sippy) and hasn’t spilled! Well…the does get some drops on the floor when he’s taking his cup to the sink, but that hardly counts πŸ™‚

He’s also been counting – to TEN! But he’s sneaky about it. I’ll hear him mumbling something or another and then realize that he’s counting his fingers. Or the blankets on the dresser. Or something else like that. And if you ask him to count, he’ll put a grin on his face and say something like, “One…three….eight…” Lil’ stinker πŸ˜›Β  I DID manage to get him on video…however, it was at bed time and I just happened to have my Flip in my pocket and turned it on…so you can’t really see anything. (And as soon as I turned on the lights and tried again, the little bugger put that grin on his face…)

(15 seconds)

And just something fun…Logan has a rocket ship that Aunt Kahki gave to him for Christmas (he just *loves* the thing!!). Nanny Jessica has him push the button for the countdown and then launches him.

(22 seconds)

…as you can see, he doesn’t really like to be video taped πŸ˜‰

Nanny Jessica also has picnics with the kids:

Maggie Style

I “girlied” up the bottom bunk of Burke and Maggie’s bed yesterday.

New curtains

I found shiny curtains and tassel tie backs at the local discount store. I also purchased a new curtain rod to put up underΒ  the bed. The “valance” is actually the tie backs that came with the curtains.

The View While Sleeping

(Okay, okay…I know that if she’s actually sleeping the view would be, well, black…but this is the view if she’s in bed AWAKE. πŸ™‚ )

I stapled the flat sheet of a princess sheet set to the support planks under Burke’s bed. The fitted sheet and Cinderella pillow case will be used on Maggie’s bed – she usually tosses off the flat sheet anyway πŸ˜‰

The verdict? It’s “Maggie Style!!”Β  πŸ™‚

(25 seconds)

Maggie was so happy she was singing … and she wanted to have a sleep over with Burke and Logan in her bed. Cute πŸ™‚

(Burke is now working on thoughts for his own “Burke Style” – which, surprise surprise, includes a Cars theme…but also includes pictures of the family πŸ™‚ )

Way Back When-esday

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Go on over to see who else is playing – and join in too!

I have no idea of when this picture was taken. I guess I look like I’m right around 2? Perhaps this was taken in 1976?

Weight For Me!

You may remember the documenting of my weight loss (and how dieting sucks). And you may hove notice a lack of those posts recently…ya. well. That’s because I totally fell off that wagon. And then it ran over me. And apparently there were lot of chocolates and other yummy things under that wagon that fell into my mouth as it was rolling over me.

I’ve gained a little more than 1/2 the weight back. So technically, I’m still lighter than I was 2 years ago at this point, but I’m definitely heavier than i was at this point last year. And I’m disgusted with myself.

I can’t seem to stop eating! (She says as she puts another Girl Scout cookie in her mouth…) I love all foods that I shouldn’t be eating. And when they’re around, I have no control over the amount that goes into my mouth. None.

SOMETHING (besides my pants) needs to give. I need to get back on my Wii. I need to start monitoring what I put into myΒ  mouth. I need to stop buying all this CRAP.

And I thought if I wrote it all down, I might actually hold myself accountable. Or at least have you guys to hold me in check…

So…Wagon!! Hold up!! Wait for me!!

Makes My Monday: “Freeze Ball”

The kids are throwing around two balls…if you’re hit by one, you’re frozen…by the other, you’re unfrozen.

Pop Pop is still here – playing along too πŸ™‚

A multi-generational game – played OUTSIDE (!) in the sun! – totally Makes My Monday.

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Head on over to see what else makes people’s Mondays (there are always some really good ones!)

Pop Pop is Here!

Mike’s Dad is here for the weekend!

He picked a gorgeous weekend to be here πŸ™‚

Saturday Snapshot: To Keurig

Our awesome coffee maker broke last week, so I posed the question, “To Keurig, or not to Keurig?” on Facebook and Twitter. The overwhelming response was “TO!”

We did a little research and some calculations and found a GREAT deal at Costco.

WOW. The answer is definitely “To Keurig.”

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Go over and have a look at what others are doing on this lovely Saturday.

Friday’s Fotos (and Video): Big and Strong

Even though Logan is technically little, he doesn’t see it that way.

(27 seconds)

He also thinks he’s big enough to use Burke’s scooter…

(38 seconds)

If you only have time for one video, I highly recommend the first one πŸ˜‰

And some pictures to go along with it…

Muscles!!
