If you're gonna shop anyway, I'd really appreciate it if you'd click through my links to help support the growing needs of ballet slippers, art supplies, and soccer shorts. :)

These come from about a year ago, August 13, 2009, courtesy of Nanny Jessica. No special occasion, just Maggie playing dress-up and Burke wanting a hat of his own. I’m pretty sure that Nanny Jessica made it for him 🙂

These are ALLLL the way back from Monday when we went to Chuck E. Cheese. These are significant not only because I didn’t get them into Monday’s post, but because they are the last pictures of their kind for a long, *long* time…Maggie’s complaining that her tummy hurts and Burke has already chucked his cookies cheese twice. (Last time we went to Chuck E. Cheese, 3 of the 5 of us got pink eye!)
I mentioned the Magic Tree House series the other day. We’re almost through Book 3: Mummies in the Morning…and the kids don’t want me to stop reading. We even took the book outside today 🙂
When I stopped reading for a bit, Burke and Maggie requested to look at the book. While looking at the cover, they realized that Burke’s sunglasses are red…just like Jack’s glasses. And Maggie requested piggy tails…just like Annie.

And then they realized they have a “tree house” … So Maggie went up and is pretending to be Annie.
"Annie" in the Magic Tree House
Burke, pretending to be Jack, yelled “I want to see a swing set!” and ran over to play on the swings. LOL!
Neat side-note…if you go to magictreehouse.com there’s a passport you can download. And when you answer questions about the books you read, you earn a stamp (also to download) for the passport! How cool is that?! 🙂
Burke and Maggie have been going to a gym class each week for the summer. Since we were on vacation last week, we did a make-up gym class for the one we’d miss.
When we got back into the car after it was over, Maggie looked at me and said in a really sad voice, “But mom, they didn’t put any makeup on me.”
…pause…
“OH!!!” *giggle* “Maggie, make-up gym classes just mean that we are going to miss one and they’re letting us go to another one at a different time…not that they’ll put blush or lipstick on you.”
LOL! She’s too cute 🙂
…and that may also explain why Burke really didn’t want to go at first 😉
Burke and Maggie have been getting swim lessons from Aunt Meghan while we’re here in Vermont.
After 4 lessons, they can now put their face in the water and blow bubbles, kick their feet, and dog-paddle their arms…sometimes all at the same time!! (with the help of a noodle…) I’m impressed with how quickly they’ve become comfortable with it all.
I was working (playing?) with Burke this morning (a fun Disney workbook), just telling him what the directions say on each page. We get to this page:
It says to count how many of each bug there are and then trace 19 and 20.
He immediately points to the cluster on the left and says, “That one’s 19.” I ask, “How do you know?” He says, “Because there’s one missing right there.” and points to the lower right corner of the bug picture on the left.
I know I’m biased because I’m his mom and all…but I’m kinda wowed by this!

When Burke and Maggie were still under 2, I was kind of a schedule freak. (It was the only way to keep my sanity!) When one slept, the other one did too. When one woke up, the other one had to as well. When one ate, the other one did too. You get the idea.
We were up in Vermont (for Thanksgiving? Christmas? The Twin’s first birthday? I can’t remember which now…) when the kids were between 10 months to a year old. It wasn’t nap time yet, and I’m fairly certain that Maggie wasn’t the least bit tired…but Burke was slowly nodding off. I was in the other room doing something and yelled in to Mike to not let Burke fall to sleep.
He did the best he could…
"Keep him awake, huh?"
(I suppose this should have prepared me for when Logan didn’t wake up when he fell out of the rocking chair…but it didn’t!)

These pictures come from one of the first BBQs we had when we moved into our house in 2007. I was about 8 months pregnant with Logan here. Burke and Maggie were about 2.5.
