Friday’s Fotos…on a Sunday

Since Debi isn’t doing the Baby Picture Sundays, and since I opted to do a Logan update on Friday…I’m putting up the “this is what we did this week” photos today 🙂

Burke at the Park

.

.

Burke was very proud that he’d learned a new “trick” and couldn’t wait to get me to go with him to the park to show me. 🙂 I have video as well…but I haven’t downloaded it from my Flip yet.

Giraffe on Logan's Head

Why can this kid sleep with anything on his head?? 🙂

"I'm sitting here and I'm not moving."

I had a really hard time convincing Logan that he had to go back to his own booster seat. He SOOOO wants to be a “big kid” !!

.

"Look at me!!"

.

So the next day when it was just the two of us, I let him sit in Maggie’s seat. He was so excited!

Hangin' in the Giga Ball

.

.

Inside the Giga Ball has been a favorite past-time for Burke and Maggie. (They know not to roll it when they’re both inside.) Logan tried getting in with them but said it was “too busy” for him. LOL!

Burke also likes hanging out on top of the Giga Ball – with his butt in the opening. Goofball 🙂

Friday’s Fotos: Sleep

Over the past week, all three kids have prompted me to run for the camera while they were sleeping. (There’s just something about a sleeping kid. )

As you know, we moved the twins out of their toddler beds a few months ago.

So glad we got Maggie the big bed ...

The kids get to bring their juice cups up to bed with them (with very little juice in them). It’s a comfort item for them, and we see no real reason to remove it.

Lucky juice cup...I like Burke snuggles too!

As I usually do, I went in to check on Logan before heading to bed myself and saw that his Mickey Mouse was on his head. And when I tried to move it to the side, he grabbed it – still asleep – and pulled it back over his head. Okay then.

Logan: "Don't you take my Mickey!"

Blog Farts

Blog Farts – noun. Def: Crappy ideas that are too short to make a real blog post, but when combined, join forces to make one unified, albeit half a$$ed, post. see also: memes, surveys.

I saw Blog Fart Fridays over on another blog. I love the term, but a.) it’s not Friday, b.) I don’t think I could do it every Friday, and c.) there are too many other things going on each Friday…so I’ll just “borrow” the term and give credit 🙂

Why do I have to wake the kids up at 7:00 on the days we have to go to school, but every other day they wake up on their own at 6 or 6:30??

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

While going in to comfort Logan at 3:30 last night, the word “Gargamel!” screamed through my head. No idea why. And no, I don’t think my youngest is an evil man plotting to rid the world of Smurfs.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It’s incredibly hard to sing “The Goodnight Song” while hiccuping.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I really enjoy the “hoopla” of Mother’s Day – but when I really stop to think about it, I’m super spoiled because I’m treated to a “Mother’s Year” by my family.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I tried parking the stupid van in a tiny little spot at the Costco Garage last weekend…and finally just got out of the car to let Mike do it. Apparently, when Mike opened the door to let the kids out, he was mumbling something about how mommy had the car all kerfickled. (Pennsylvania-Dutch word??) Now Burke seems to think that I’m ‘carfickled’ (can’t park the car…)

How To Keep a 4 Year Old In Bed

New sheets! (and comforter)

Princess Bedding

Last night marked the VERY first night that I didn’t have to move Burke into bed from the floor, or rocking chair, or some other spot he’d decided was a good place to sleep.

Secret to Sleeping Through the Night

A few weeks ago I posted an email to my mothers of twins group lamenting the fact that my 9-month-old baby isn’t sleeping for longer than 2 – 3 hours at a time, and that he’s now sleeping on his stomach which freaks me out. As usual, I got a bunch of replies from this wonderful group (what do moms of singletons do without such a support group??). A lot of the replies had to do with letting Logan “Cry It Out” (CIO in mommy terms). We tried it…and couldn’t stand it after about 10 minutes or so. The poor little guy 😦

This brings us to the secret for getting Logan to sleep through the night. *sigh* We forgot to turn the baby monitor on one night…so I’m guessing that he “Cried It Out”. We don’t know this for sure because I woke up with a start at 4am thinking “Go Logan!” (pause) “Oh my God, the monitor isn’t on!!!” And rushed into his room (You’d think I was a first-time mom heh). He was sleeping soundly with a very content face. I’m not sure what I was expecting (the frozen Han Solo ‘pose’??), and I could tell that he HAD been awake – covers off and in a different position…but he was JUST FINE. And he’s been sleeping through the night (mostly) since. I do have to wonder if this is another one of those “scarred for life” moments though.

So a tip for all you parents out there – when it’s time for your kid to sleep through the night, conveniently forget to turn your monitor on and mom and dad will be just fine!

Chalk this up to “BAAAAD MOMMY!!” that turned out for the best…
