Way Back When-esday

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Go on over to see who else is playing – and join in too!

These pictures are from February 18, 2007. The twins were 2 years old. The Sit-n-Spin pictures from the other day reminded me of these πŸ™‚

"I Fell off!"

"Wheee!"

“Zimmers Are Strong!”

I was chatting with Maggie’s teacher about how she’s been working with Ms. Speech on her words and pronunciations. Mrs. Teacher told me that she had had a realization about Maggie. She figured out that if Maggie wants something, Mrs. Teacher has to ask her to slow down and then pay close attention (not the typical do-a-million-things-while-half-listening-to-what-your-kids-are-trying-to-tell-you thing…)

Their conversation? Maggie told Mrs. Teacher that Zimmers are strong (and made a muscle) LOL! (I wish I had a picture of that…)

I think Mike works on that with them heh

The thing is, Zimmers ARE strong…willed, anyway πŸ˜‰ No, no, really…Logan was spinning the Sit-n-Spin around … with both him and Burke on it. Scrappy little bugger. πŸ™‚

This one is from February of 2006. The twins had just gotten their quilts from Nana (or maybe I’d just gotten around to photographing them..? That’s probably more likely since they received them when they got baptized.)

Makes My Monday: First Crush

I was watching Disney’s Atlantis with the kids yesterday. Maggie had borrowed the book from their school library … which reminded me that we had the movie. They’d seen it before, but it’s been over a year, so they didn’t remember it at all.

When the main character, Kida, first came on screen, Burke whispered, “She’s BEAUTIFUL!”

And then asked me why she wasn’t wearing any clothes.

Trying to think quickly…I said, “Kida lives in a very hot climate, so she doesn’t need to wear much.”

He then proclaimed Atlantis to be the best movie EVER.

The pure innocence and wonder in Burke’s voice totally Makes My Monday.

Friday’s Fotos: Crazy Clothes Day

Yesterday was Crazy Clothes Day at school for Burke and Maggie. They both had a lot of fun with it πŸ™‚

When I came down from working yesterday afternoon…I was greeted with this image…

Chip 'n Training...

(Apparently he’d JUST spilled Beefaroni on his shirt and then decided he was too hot anyway and didn’t want another shirt. Whoo boy. )

Baby Picture Sundays

This week’s theme is Pool of Drool. As I’ve been typically doing, I’m gonna tweak it a bit … it’s a pool of drool, but mostly from the bottle πŸ˜‰

These pictures are from July 2005; the kids were just over 6 months old.

Birthday, Birthday, Birthday, Birthday, Birthday!

(They did turn 5…hence the 5 birthday’s up there. Although, there are 2 of them, so perhaps I should have done 10? πŸ˜‰ )

We celebrated Burke and Maggie’s birthday yesterday. I still can’t believe I’m a mom to two 5 year olds. CRAZY!!

We had a blast! Grandpa, Nana, Aunt Meghan, and Aunt Cathy came over to help celebrate, and Grandpa brought one of his famous shaped cakes. (You may remember Mickey Mouse from Logan’s birthday in September, Tyrone from the twins’ birthday last year, or Elmo and McQueen from years past…)

This year, my dad made Cinderella!

Mike grilled up some grub: Hamburgers, Hot dogs, Kielbasa, Steak, potatoes, and Asparagus.

And, of course, there were tons of presents.

Fx4: Theater Workshop

Burke and Maggie attended a theater workshop at the same place Burke normally has his art classes. They had so much fun!! Since it was 3 – 6 year olds, the teacher focused on getting the kids aware of their bodies. So they each got a turn pretending to be an animal while the rest of the class guessed what they were, then they played freeze dance (a favorite of Burke and Maggie’s!), then they got the dress-up box out and pretended to be different people (Burke was a butterfly and Maggie was a princess – surprise πŸ˜‰ ), and then they made masks out of felt. All-in-all, a good time!

Jumping to the Music

(Burke is on the left with the light blue shirt and green pants. Maggie is on the right with the striped shirt and the purple skirt.)

Having a Blast with Freeze Dance

I managed to get some of it on video, but I have to admit that I was chatting with the other moms and missed a bunch…
