School Photos: Year 2009-2010

Burke and Maggie brought home their school pictures today!

(Remember their pictures from last year?)

These are from March of 2006. The kids are about 14 months old and have discovered the Tupperware cabinet for the first time. 🙂

Look at all this stuff!!

Saturday Snapshot: At the Aquarium

The cousins are visiting, so we headed to the Aquarium today!

Friday’s Fotos: Maggie Montage

I took these a few days ago with my cell phone. The best (non-silly) one has red eye, but I’ll put up anyway. (I tried to fix the red eye with several different photo fixing software packages, but it just made her look like she’s got crazy eyes instead!)

This week’s theme is Go Green – for St. Patrick’s Day! (This is actually a re-post from last year…I havn’t had the time to look for other green pictures today!!)

The following pictures were taken on St. Patrick’s Day of 2005 – Burke and Maggie were just about 2 and a half months old 🙂

(He kind of looks like a football player with scrawny legs here LOL)

Maggie Style

I “girlied” up the bottom bunk of Burke and Maggie’s bed yesterday.

New curtains

I found shiny curtains and tassel tie backs at the local discount store. I also purchased a new curtain rod to put up under  the bed. The “valance” is actually the tie backs that came with the curtains.

The View While Sleeping

(Okay, okay…I know that if she’s actually sleeping the view would be, well, black…but this is the view if she’s in bed AWAKE. 🙂 )

I stapled the flat sheet of a princess sheet set to the support planks under Burke’s bed. The fitted sheet and Cinderella pillow case will be used on Maggie’s bed – she usually tosses off the flat sheet anyway 😉

The verdict? It’s “Maggie Style!!”  🙂

Maggie was so happy she was singing … and she wanted to have a sleep over with Burke and Logan in her bed. Cute 🙂

(Burke is now working on thoughts for his own “Burke Style” – which, surprise surprise, includes a Cars theme…but also includes pictures of the family 🙂 )

Baby Picture Sundays

This week’s theme is Army Crawl. Fun 🙂

These pictures are from July of 2005. Burke and Maggie were not quite 6 months old.

…And apparently we didn’t let Logan down out of his swing…cuz those are the only pictures I could find of him LOL!

Well That Just Stinks.

We’ve had a bit of a backslide in the ah, potty training department. There has been poo in Burke’s undies for the past two days. And when I ask him about it, he tells me “I just didn’t feel it.” Mmhm. And this is usually after I’ve witnessed some squirming and asked if he needs to use the potty (“Nope!”). And this is usually while he’s doing something he doesn’t want to stop doing (or can’t stop), like watching TV, playing video games, or in the car. Good times.

Luckily, we had the twins’ 5 year appointment today so I asked Dr. Doctor about it. She said it’s actually pretty normal and that perhaps we should go back to a potty “schedule” – every 2 to 3 hours, or a sticker chart. We’ll see.

On a brighter note, the appointment went really well! (Aside from the 2 shots each.) Both Burke and Maggie are still little peanuts (I don’t remember specifics, but both are somewhere between the 10th and the 35th percentile for all things). Maggie IS, however, slowly climbing the charts. Woot! They’re still on their own growth charts though, so there’s no worries.

Maggie’s Stats
Height: 42 inches
Weight: 37 pounds

Burke’s Stats
Height: 41.5 inches
Weight: 35 pounds

They had eye exams and passed with flying colors…oh and that reminds me, they passed the “I’m not color blind” test as well – although, Maggie scared us for a minute. Turns out the test was wrong LOL!

*Sniff, sniff* What’s that I smell? Is it…? Can it be..? SPRING TRAINING IS IN THE AIR!!

Today’s post is in honor of the wonderful game of baseball. The Red Sox have their first full workout today. WOOT!

As you know, there’s a slight rivalry in our household…I’m a Sox fan; Mike’s an Indian’s fan. We started the confusion for our kids early 😉

Saturday Snapshot: Colorful Thinking

A recent Fishful Thinking activity is the Colorful Things game. You express certain feelings through certain colors. We chose to use Rainbow Goldfish for our game.

Burke didn’t want to play, and Logan just wanted to eat the fish…but Maggie seemed to really enjoy it!

At first, we went over what the different colors would mean – and what our faces would look like with that emotion. (I think we mixed up the colors a few times, but we still had fun!)

Sad

Angry

Happy

…and she decided that green meant throw up, but I’ll spare you those pictures 😉

And here’s a video for what things make Maggie sad, angry, and happy.
