My Teeth Tickle

Sounds like something I’d have to decipher from my kids, right? Ya. No. One guess for who said it. Ya. That’d be me. But seriously – my teeth tickle.

I know logically that it can’t really be my teeth…it’s gotta be the gums or something…but MAN – my teeth tickle. It’s not all the time. It’s at the very end of each breath – both in and out. The deeper the breath, the more intense the tickle. And it’s not all of my teeth. Just the 4 on the bottom.

What does this mean? I’m guessing one of two things: I should probably go to the dentist (not entirely untrue), or I’m getting sick (also pretty sure that’s not entirely untrue).

This is also not the first time it’s happened. I remember many times when I was growing up that my teeth tickled. Did I ever mention it to anyone? Nope. Do I remember what caused it? Nope. Do I remember how long it usually lasts? Nope. I just hope it goes away soon…

More Hunger Pains?

Hey look! Another meme about one of my favorite topics 🙂 This one has grosser stuff on it (and comes from the UK – so I haven’t even heard of half this stuff), so I’m sure that I’ll be bolding less and crossing out bunches. Perfect timing … since food is pretty much always on my mind with this whole diet thing.

The rules:

1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.

Official Apology

To my little sister Sharon –

I want to apologize for (much of) my behavior while we were growing up. I know that I caused a lot of pain (both physical and emotional) that I won’t go into in detail about because a.) it’s too personal and b.) I’m hoping you’ve forgotten most of it.

Just know that I look back at some of the things I said or did and cringe. I’m sorry. And know that I’m so very thankful that I didn’t ruin things and that we are as close as we are.

With many sorries and much love,
Nancy

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I’m thankful:

  • For all the typical “family, friends, etc.” (of course!!)
  • That we have 3 kids and not 4
  • That my family is healthy and happy
  • That my Dad lives close enough for visits
  • That even though Mike’s family isn’t close in distance, they’re still close
  • For my blog and the pure joy I get from it
  • For other blogs I read and enjoy
  • For books: grown-up and children’s
  • For vacations that are actually restful
  • That Mike is so patient with me
  • That Maggie enjoys singing and has started to talk in school
  • That Logan is so easy-going
  • That Burke really enjoys coloring

Honestly

A big thank you to Heather at Wanting What You Have for passing this one along to me. It means a lot to me since I read her (very honest) blog all the time.

honestaward

As usual, there are rules that you agree to when you accept this award:

“When you receive the prize, you must write a post showing it, together with the name of who has given it to you, and link them back. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in their content or design. Show their names and links and leave them a comment informing that they were prized with ‘Honest Weblog’. List [if you can and/or dare] at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!”

Ten Honest Things About Myself:

  1. I don’t shower every day. With 3 kids and a full-time job, I just don’t have the time to!
  2. I go through life fearing that someone will “find me out” – that I’m not supposed to have a master’s degree, or that I shouldn’t really have the job I have, or I’m not really the person people think I am…Something like that. Not sure why, but there it is.
  3. When I’m at work, I want to be with my kids. When I’m with my kids, I sometimes want to be at work.
  4. I never feel like I fit in. There are lots of places that I go to where I have to remind myself that I really DO belong there.
  5. My friends often use me as a reality check because I’m so honest with them.
  6. I’m not a creative writer. Technical, sure. Autobiographical, well – you’ve seen that here. Creative, no.
  7. I could sit on the couch and watch TV (with my computer so I could blog) all day. For days. And not be bored at all.
  8. I’m a life time member of the Girl Scouts. There was a time in my life when I was embarrassed to say that I was in the Girl Scouts – not any more! I’m currently inactive though – stopped being a leader when I had the twins. I’m pretty sure I’ll be sucked back in when Maggie gets to the right age though. 🙂
  9. There are times when I wonder – in passing – if I suffer from depression. I took a psychology course though, so I know from experience if I start looking up “symptoms” – every single one will apply; but it doesn’t mean that I do.
  10. It’s really hard to come up with 10 honest things when my entire blog is pretty honest…

Seven Blogs I think of When I See the Word Honest:
(not that I don’t think that all the blogs I read are honest…)

  1. Snickollet
  2. Debi at Who Says 8 Is Enough?
  3. Giovanna Diaries
  4. What a Card
  5. Nancy at Southern Blessings
  6. Jane at Baby Squared
  7. VP of Domestic Affairs

Favorite Movies: A – Z

Hey! Did you know that you can apply this Alphabet stuff to anything?? *grin*

I really enjoyed the Favorite Book post, so I thought I’d try out one for movies as well. Like the books, there are probably some letters that get the default movie title if it’s the only one I’ve seen starting with that letter…doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a favorite though. You’ll also notice that there aren’t a lot of recent movies listed. . . not a lot of time to get out to the movies lately. Go figure 😉

A – Airplane (A classic in my family)

B – Back to the Future

C – The Count of Monte Cristo

D – Dodgeball

E – Elf

F – Fever Pitch

G – Ground Hog Day

H – Holes

I – Indiana Jones (all of them – and yes, I know that the best one starts with an R)

J – The Jungle Book (Disney’s animated)

K – A Knight’s Tale

L – Lean On Me

M – Minority Report

N – The Never Ending Story

O – October Sky

P – Pump up the Volume (or the Princess Bride??)

Q – The Quick and the Dead

R – The Rookie (first date with Mike 🙂 )

S – The Sixth Sense

T – The Thomas Crown Affair

U – The Usual Suspects

V – Victor Victoria

W – With Honors

X – X-Men

Y – Yours, Mine, and Ours (the original)

Z – Zorba the Greek
