Baby Picture Sunday – Animal Kingdom

Debi is doing her Baby Picture Sundays again. I missed last week, but this week, I’m in!

Here is the Zoo at the Zoo (and I don’t mean our house šŸ˜‰ )

I made myself a bagel this afternoon and made the mistake of going into the room the kids were in. Within SECONDS all three (yes, ALL THREE) were right by my side begging for some. Needless to say, I didn’t get much. *sigh*

No Tears!: Gio, unfortunately, I have to head home to get some work done between drop off and pick up times…so much for solitude! ♦ What a Card – thanks for the update on the kids (I know, I’ve seen you since, but it doesn’t seem right to just ignore you here šŸ˜‰ ♦ Heather, Maggie’s red head always makes me stare at her…I just can’t get over how RED it is! (And honestly, these pictures don’t do her justice…)

Is It Just Me?: Once again, thank you to everyone who proved that’s it’s not just me šŸ™‚ Bia – too funny about the sweats! ♦ Tanya – Perhaps you should find some of that leave in conditioner LOL!

Mommy meme: Sure, GrannyFranni – feel free to use my blurb…just let me know what your patients say šŸ˜€

Fx4: Lori and Debbie from GA – What a good idea!! I’m not sure if I’ll remember to take a picture every year on the same day, but I LOVE that.

TOO HIGH! (And Too Big): Laura – yes…that’s EXACTLY why your nieces and nephews run when they see you šŸ˜‰

TOO HIGH!!!! (and too big!)

You’ve seen posts about the new swing set… And I think I mentioned that Mike and Jon were supposed to cement the swing down last Saturday. All I can say after viewing video from my nanny (from which the following picture is captured) is: THANK GOD Mike cemented it down on Sunday!!!

Brenda also took some super cute pictures of Logan on the tricycle…but he just looks too darn big! When did that happen??

Giovanna tagged me for this one. I like her answers šŸ™‚

First: Post a picture of you and your kids. Since I’m usually the one behind the camera, I had my nanny take a few when I got home from work today.

Second: Answer the questions.

  1. How many children do you have?
Three – B/G twins and another boy
  2. What are their ages?
The twins are 3 1/2 and the other one just turned 1
  3. What time of day do you start your day?
As late as possible. The kids wake up anywhere between 7:00 and 8:00.
  4. What do you eat for breakfast?
A bagel and coffee – in the car.
  5. Do they watch TV?
The twins do. Probably more than they should.Ā  The little guy isn’t into it.
  6. What are their favorite activities?
The twins *LOVE* to color. Logan loves climbing…and giving his mom a heart attack.
  7. Do you get a break during the day from them?
Almost too much of a break since I work full time.
  8. How do you end your day?
Eating dinner and watching TV with my husband (we’ve been really into Ghost Hunters and America’s Got Talent lately).
  9. What is your best parenting advice or tip?
Parent TOGETHER. Even if you disagree with what the other one is saying, hold your tongue in front of the kids and discuss it later. Back each other up…My husband is always saying “You heard your mom…” LOVE that.

Third: Tag 5 people.
So I tag:

  1. Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings
  2. Cat at Juggling Act of Life
  3. Mommy at Mommy, Esq.
  4. Heather at Wanting What You Have
  5. Debi at Who Says 8 is Enough

Milestones

The twins had a GREAT day today at school. They were so excited when I went to pick them up. Burke was talking a mile a minute (surprisingly, Maggie was pretty quiet). They colored, and played with sand, and made bracelets, and went outside, and peed in the potty…sounds like a cool day to me!

We were in the car on the way home and I started talking about Burke’s speech class – which started about an hour after school ended. Burke didn’t want to get out of the car because he wanted to go see Miss Sun* – too cute!! I resorted to bribing him to get him inside the house.

While driving back from speech class, Burke pretended to fall to sleep in his car seat (with a cute little smile on his face). I asked if he was tired and he said, “yes.” I asked if he wanted to take a nap and he said, “yes.” He hasn’t really napped in over a year! And he actually did fall to sleep for about 20 minutes around 4:00.

The only way I got him to wake up was the promise of (yet another) car ride. (We had to go exchange some shoes that I got for the twins – I over estimated their growth.) Both kids wanted shoes that light up. LOL I recall thinking before I had kids that I’d never be the kind of parent who gets light-up shoes for my kids…mm hmm. Both Burke and Maggie were jumping all over the house with their new shoes on tonight. (I took a video, but it’s still on my camera.)

In Logan news…Burke has this habit of saying “Hi Logan!” over and over again – with his face right in Logan’s face. This morning, Logan very clearly said “Hi!” back to him. Pretty cute šŸ™‚

Logan was also pretty darn squirmy while nursing tonight. We’d cut it down to just nursing right before bed (forgot to nurse him when he woke up on his BIRTHDAY of all days…ooops! BAD mommy!). Squirmy while still attached just isn’t pleasant, so I bagged that and went to get the sippy cup. . . we will probably just end up doing the sippy from now on, which is just fine – he IS 6 days over a year old šŸ˜‰

Maggie’s always singing, but she’s never this…hyper about it. And in this next clip, she’s recruited Auntie backup singers! LOL

The next day, to battle the sugar hangover, Grandpa gave everyone a tractor ride.

Weekend in Vermont – Part 2

I teased you a little bit in my last Vermont post with that one picture of Shelburn Farms…sorry!

Warning: This post is picture heavy!

First, you get a hay ride out to the barn (see the AWESOME barn in my last post). Notice how none of my kids are sitting in my lap! (or Mike’s either.)

Note to self: Why the heck did they call it a hay ride? There was no hay!

Poor Maggie couldn’t keep her hair out of her face…

Then, you have LOADS of things to choose from! I didn’t get pictures of everything, but the farm had cows, horses, chickens (LOTS of chickens!), donkeys, pigs, turkeys, a llama, goats, sheep, and bunnies.

They also had a play area with lots of things to do, a bakery, a cheese factory (with samples!), and a lunch cart.

Weekend in Vermont – Part 1

We had an awesome time in Vermont over the weekend! We drove up on Saturday and hung out with the fam. I had thought the mosquitoes were bad in Massachusetts…but DAMN, the ones in VT almost carried the kids off! We dropped in on my little sister working at one of the local clothing stores. Too funny (and a bit strange!!) And then we went to see my younger sister’s new house. They’re building on land they bought from my Dad…and I’m. so. jealous. But, like – in that good jealous way šŸ™‚ Here’s the view from their loft-to-be.

On Sunday, we went to Shelburn Farms. What an AWESOME place!! If you’re ever in the Burlington, VT area, I’d highly recommend looking it up.

The Host

We had a play date today with another set of twins, Hannah and Sophie, who are just about a year younger than Burke and Maggie. We had a wonderful time and played outside and in. Burke, as usual, had a hard time sharing “his” outside toys. He’s very possessive about his Cozy Coup, Logan’s swing (so he can be in it), and his tricycle among other things. Inside toys don’t seem to bother him as much…there was the occasional “That’s not yours!” But he didn’t collapse into tears inside.

Once inside, we had some snacks and then played with legos and the kitchen items. And everyone decided to use the potty! While Hannah was sitting there, Burke very nicely brought her a snack and her milk…and then I noticed that all he had on was a shirt. Geeeeeez! He brought Sophie her snack and milk as well…with no pants.

When we had our play date last week with N and B (from What a Card fame – another really good time! These two will be in the same class as Burke and Maggie … how cool is that?!), I do believe Burke’s pants stayed on. . .

I certainly hope that this isn’t going to be Burke’s trend with the ladies…
