When Did THAT Happen??

I’m sure you’ve all been there – out with your kids somewhere and the “big kids” come around and take over the park or the toys or whatever. You’re thinking, “Where are their parents?? If they hurt my kid(s), I’m gonna be pissed.”  …right?

*sigh* That ended up being  my kids recently. We went to a birthday party for Ned and Penny over the weekend… Burke and Maggie were the biggest kids there! Holy cow – how did that happen? (Actually, now that I think of it, Logan was about a year older than the rest of the kiddos there too!)

Okay – as far as kids go, they were actually really good. They did take over a climber in the corner of the playroom…and I think I got “the eye” from one parent as Burke almost fell on her child (I would have given it as well, so I don’t blame her!) But I tried to have a tight leash on them so they wouldn’t take over the entire room and terrorize the other little kids there.

What do you do – as parents – in this situation? I needed to let them play … it wouldn’t have been fair to make them sit in a corner the whole time; but I really (really) didn’t want them to accidentally bump into a newly walking kid and tip him or her over.

Fx4: a Goofball, a Dragonfly, and a King

Today’s Friday’s Foto Finish Fiesta (Fx4) is brought to you by a goofball, a big-a$$ dragonfly (and the super-fast kid who caught it), and a silly king.

I took the following picture with my phone before Marjorie realized what I was doing:

Once she realized, this is what I was able to get:

Burke has been a dragonfly catching fiend. He’s been getting “bored” catching them in his net and has started to grab them with his bare hands. He’s “SuperFast” 🙂

I think his record for number of dragonflies caught in one day is 10.

While at Burger King the other day, Logan had a blast with his crown:

Saturday Snapshot: Lounging

Due to the sudden downpour (while we were outside, of course) and Mommy’s headache…it’s Backyardigans time.

Makes My Monday: The Three C’s

Nope, not the diamond ones (although, I guess that’s 4 C’s)…

Concentration, Cooperation, and Coloring.

We purchased a Color Me House from Costco yesterday…and watching the kids have SO MUCH fun with it makes my Monday. 🙂

Baby Picture Sundays

Debi hosts the Baby Picture Sundays. Hop on over there to see who’s playing, and join in too!

This week’s theme is For the Love of the Sippy Cup. Boy do we have loads of those! Here’s a picture I took from a visit we had to Vermont last November:

We only have 3 kids. Really!

We only have 3 kids. Really!

I’m not sure why the cups got so out of hand here…

Anyway … Since we’re almost never without juice when we go places, I have various pictures of the kids with varying types of cups. We use the Take -n- Toss (of course!) – both sippy and straw – but our favorite ones are the Playtex Coolsters. They don’t leak!!! My brother-in-law picks on them because they look like the kids are carrying around travel coffee mugs, but I don’t care. 🙂

Water, Water Everywhere

While up in Vermont, we took the kids swimming. They had only been in the “little” kiddie pool in our back yard before…never a big pool or a lake or anything else. They LOVED it all. (I shouldn’t be surprised – I spent all of my childhood summers in the town pool or Lake Champlain.)

Busy Weekend in Vermont

If you didn’t guess from yesterday’s post, we’re in Vermont visiting Grandpa and Nana. We’re actually here for the entire week! And boy oh boy does Nana have lots of stuff planned for the kiddos. 🙂
