Then the City Band concert in the park. Nana is the conductor. (She’s the one waving her arms off to the right.) If you look closely, you’ll see her name on the bandstand…it was built for her!

  1. Kinda makes me want to ride on a tractor! Hopefully it isnt too hot up there – we’re melting down here in MA!!

  2. It looks like you’re having so much fun! I’ve always wanted to go to Vermont (well, New England in general), because the pictures I’ve seen look so charming and idyllic. Someday….

  3. Looks like y’all are having lots of fun! I’ll bet it is hard to get used to calling her a different name after all this time.

  4. I get a kick out of Maggie — oops, Marjorie! I also get lots of chuckles when I tell friends about her name change and even more when I add on that Burke went through a period of time wanting to be called “Tyrone.” Kids really are a trip!

  5. Looks like you are having a great relaxing week! Well, Marjorie it is!

  6. Growing up I was most often “Honey” the nickname given by my siblings since I was the fourth “Helen” in the family. I remember very clearly learning to spell both names- and liking that Helen was more fun in pretend cursive! I don’t every remember demanding to be called Helen instead, I just made the transition when I went to Kindergarten. It is a little like having a double identity:) The artist formerly known as Maggie will probably end up using both as I did (and still do, I guess)
