Fx4: a Goofball, a Dragonfly, and a King

Today’s Friday’s Foto Finish Fiesta (Fx4) is brought to you by a goofball, a big-a$$ dragonfly (and the super-fast kid who caught it), and a silly king.

I took the following picture with my phone before Marjorie realized what I was doing:

Marjorie: August, 2009

Once she realized, this is what I was able to get:

Burke has been a dragonfly catching fiend. He’s been getting “bored” catching them in his net and has started to grab them with his bare hands. He’s “SuperFast” 🙂

I think his record for number of dragonflies caught in one day is 10.

The biggest dragonfly I've ever seen!

While at Burger King the other day, Logan had a blast with his crown:

Burke was feeling a little left out on Wednesday (Marjorie had a play date and he didn’t), so I took him to lunch on Thursday – just the two of us.

My first thought was “Man, this table is  so small!” LOL

My second thought was “I should SO do this one-on-one thing more often.” We had a great time 🙂

If you’ve been following along with our kitchen renovations, this is Step 5! (Step 1 was new curtains. Step 2 was painting. Step 3 was staining the window. Step 4 was refacing the cabinets.)

We had the tile backsplash installed this week!!!

(For more before pictures, check out the refacing the cabinets post.)

As you can see, it’s still a little dusty – I have to wait until tomorrow to wipe it all down because the grout is still drying. I couldn’t wait to post pictures though 🙂

The guy who did the refacing said this is the BIGGEST turn-around he’s seen in a kitchen – ever. And he’s been at it for a while. tee hee 🙂

As you can tell from previous posts, we’re in Vermont visiting Grandpa and Nana.

Grandpa built a fire so we could make S’mores!

"I'm not so sure about this..."

Logan: "I'm not so sure about this..."

"Let's roast marshmallows!"

Burke: "Let's roast marshmallows!"

"Do you think this stick is long enough..?"

Marjorie: "Do you think this stick is long enough, Nana..?"

"Thanks for helping, Uncle Jason!"

Burke: "Thanks for helping, Uncle Jason!"

"Do you think this stick is long enough?"

Logan: "Do you think this stick is long enough?"

"HA! MY stick is gigantic!"

Cousin Grey: "HA! MY stick is gigantic!"

"Ah! It's on fire!!"

Aunt Sharon: "Ah! It's on fire!!"
(Burke, Nana, Marjorie, Aunt Meghan, Aunt Sharon, Cousin Grey)

"Sticky!!"

Burke: "Sticky!!"

We ended up with four little kids with quite the sugar high…

We went to the Lowell Spinners baseball game last Saturday (see a video of it in my last post). For some reason, they have a Herbie the Love Bug car out front. Kinda cool 🙂

Man? Dog? Bear?

Man? Dog? Bear?

This is the (torn) window shade in the twins’ room. Every night I go in to sing the Goodnight Song, and this stares back at me. I can’t SAY anything because that’d just freak them out, right? “Oh look! A face in the window!”

Perhaps it’s time to get a new shade…
