The kids had a blast making Lego towers with Daddy the other day.
They also provided a little bit of sunshine with some Easter themed dress-up hats.

We took Burke and Maggie to see Disney on Ice yesterday. (Logan got to stay with Aunt Cathy – Thanks Cathy!!)
We didn’t even tell them about it until the night before. (I’m already hearing “Are we going to the baseball game today?” Because they heard me talking about the Spinners game we’ll be heading to in the Spring.)
Since we knew they would have no idea how excited they should be about this, we got them all fired up about going on the train to get there. And they kind of got that they’d be seeing the Cars characters and Tinkerbell and others, but I think they equated it to seeing them on TV – not live and in person.
So off to the train we went.
When we got there, we got in line to see the princess dresses on display. Maggie *loves* Cinderella, so we took her picture in front of the most coveted dress.
And then, much to our pleasure, the real Cinderella showed up!
Unfortunately, by the time we got up there, Cinderella had to go. But Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) took over in her place.
(Maggie was playing shy girl because someone else took our picture.)
We stopped to get some snacks (and a beer for Mike) and headed off to look for our seats. You should have seen the “Oh thank God there’s beer here” looks Mike got from the other dads we passed. LOL
We found our seats and I hear “Is that Maggie?” from the row behind us. Turns out that one of their class mates was there too! I hadn’t met the mom, but I recognized the little girl. Her mom said that she recognized Maggie’s yellow bow. LOL I suppose it is hard to miss. And we did get quite a few compliments on it throughout the day.
Waiting for the show to start (I kind of had my camera at a strange angle on some of these…)
The show started!
And then the Cars came out! Oh man – Burke’s favorite part.
Especially when Lightnin’ McQueen came out.
It switched to The Little Mermaid, so Maggie got excited.
The Lion King was up next.
And Mike was tickled to see that Rafiki even had the monkey butt going on.
The kids were still transfixed.
I loved how they did the wildebeests. The skaters had one on each arm and one on their head to make it look like there was a pack of them. Pretty cool
Intermission brought playing with their new light-up toys and the Zamboni! As soon as the lights came up, Burke declared that he wanted to see it again. (Like I could rewind and push play LOL) Luckily, there was more coming.
Act 2 brought Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy back as the hosts.
And Burke sitting on Daddy’s lap.
Maggie was happy that it started again.
Tinkerbell was the final act. Burke got a little restless and had to go out and run around for a little bit. But it wasn’t long before they came back.
Burke liked the flying queen.
The grand finale had Tinkerbell flying and Mickey and his gang back out in formal attire.
It was a great show! And the kids loved it. My favorite part? Watching the kids’ faces. (I’m such a mom!)

I have a few photos taken over the past few days that I’m just going to throw up here…
(Speaking of “throw up” … I really wish Maggie would stop coughing so much that it makes her chuck her cookies…)
(Okay, so he didn’t say proof – but he did ask me to take a picture of him cleaning.)
(Please note, I normally don’t allow him to wear the headband out of the house – but I did almost forget to take it off of him at school one day. Ooops!)
(Thanks Aunt Kahki!)

This edition of Fx4 is brought to you by Maggie’s new digital camera.
Pictures taken by Maggie:
(You can put scenes on the pictures!)
Don’t get me wrong…there are a whole bunch that are black, or really fuzzy cuz she moved the camera while taking the picture…there are a lot of butt and chest shots as well. (What do you expect when that’s pretty much what she actually sees…)
Burke uses the camera as well, and I’m SUPER impressed with his artistic eye. I may have to dedicate a post to Burke’s creativity, but for now, here are a few he took:
And…Christmas night, the adults got into the Porron (an Italian wine decanter that has a spout on it…so you can pour it directly into your mouth) – fast becoming a Christmas tradition at our house. Remember that whole “you can add scenes to pictures” thing? Needless to say, there were a few pictures taken:
Aunt Meghan and Grandpa had an entire session at the end of the table that no one was aware of until massive giggles were heard…
Hope Dad wasn’t thinking of having a political career…

Bunches of you expressed an interest in knowing more about the coloring book/comic book pictures I posted last Friday. I thought they were cool too!!
I got the software with my camera, so here’s a big plug for Kodak… It’s the EasyShare software…and it looks like it’s free! I don’t know if that download is the same as what I’ve got … but if it is, it’s a much later version – so maybe there are cooler things to do now 🙂
Here is one picture with all of the different “fixins” done.
I enhanced the picture first so that the manipulated ones would turn out a little bit better. Enhance the picture by editing the picture and then clicking Enhance.
To get to the good stuff, you edit the picture and then click Fun Effects.
(The coloring book one looks better bigger – you can click to enlarge it.)
You can also change the “scene” if you click Scene Effects. These looked better when I started with the original picture (which is why I always save the new ones with different names 😉 )
Happy manipulating! Let me know if you decide to do some…

When I first got my camera, it came with some snazzy software. I was able to make cartoons and coloring books out of my photos! Perhaps I should re-load the software onto my “new” laptop and do some cool things again…

Last week’s picture showed how I fed the twins when they were itty bitty.
This week’s shows how I fed the twins when they were just itty.
This was taken in August of 2005. I couldn’t move the spoon from one mouth to the other fast enough. I was always amazed at the twin moms who used different bowls and spoons for each kid…mine wouldn’t have been patient enough to wait for me to put one set down to grab the other. Heck, they weren’t patient enough when I ran myself ragged getting the SAME spoon into each of their mouths 😉
