Makes My Monday: Seven Years Sneaking Up On Us

Today marks my 7 year wedding anniversary. Seven years. Seven Years!

It’s so cliche to say that it seems like just yesterday that we met – while at the same time, it feels like we’ve known each other for much, much longer…but that’s really the only way I know how to describe it. The comfort level doesn’t seem to be proportional for how ‘new’ everything still feels. We have the excitement of how a new relationship feels mixed with the comfort level of old farts who have been married for 60 years. 🙂 Although, that’s really how it’s always felt!

Funny story though…I looked at the calendar Saturday night and said, “Yikes! We have to celebrate on Monday!” …to which Mike said, “Celebrate what?” LOL! It totally snuck up on both of us 🙂

Happy Anniversary, Mike. I’m still bat-shit crazy in love with you! 🙂

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Head on over to see what else makes people’s Mondays (there are always some really good ones!)

Happy Anniversary!

No…not THAT one. We moved into our house two years ago today! Wow. We so need to put some pictures up on the walls. 😛 Wait – that wasn’t why I was writing! Sheesh.

It’s been a whole two years, and I have to say – I’ve been really happy with our house 🙂

Some improvements we’ve made (and by “we” I mostly mean “Mike” or a guy we hired):

  • put up the front fence
  • upgraded the electricity
  • upgraded the bathroom shower (and tiled the wall)
  • upgraded the kitchen appliances (and added a dishwasher…can you believe there was no dishwasher??)
  • refaced the kitchen cabinets
  • upgraded the furnace (damn thing)
  • got rid of all the crap bordering the back yard
  • planted some trees
  • put some stones under the grills and the fire pit
  • replaced the gazebo in the back yard
  • put a swing set in

And sure, there’s lots more we’d like to do (add a deck, put ceiling fans in the bedrooms, fix the front door so you can actually open it from the outside…), but for the most part we’re very happy. (I know – sick, isn’t it?)

This week’s post is from 2003. My sister got married on a snowy day in March…outside. It was a GORGEOUS wedding – and she was just radiating happiness.

Happy (almost) Anniversary, Sharon and Jason!

(I think it was “Together Forever” from Annie – fitting since they met during a
high school production of The Music Man.

Happy Anniversary, Mike!

I can’t believe it’s been 5 years. Sometimes feels like an entire lifetime since the wedding happened, sometimes feels like it was only yesterday.

Here’s to many, many more happy years together 🙂

I love you!
