Kind of a Blah Day

Wish I could pin-point why…but it’s typically due a million little things. Let’s see if I can get it sorted out.
- I’m at work and I don’t feel like working (not completely out of the norm)
- My boss’ boss wants me to head to the opposite coast for a week next month (Are you KIDDING me??)
- Lack of sleep (also not out of the norm)
- Need to get more clothes for the twins – who just won’t stop growing. Perhaps I should hit the twin club sale next weekend, but I *HATE* that kind of manic, crowded shopping. Plus, Mike works on the weekends and I’m sooooo not bringing the kids with me
- Feeling pretty poor at the moment
- Think the twins might be back-sliding in the potty training department. We’ve been sending them to school in pull-ups and I think they’re getting lazy
- ALL of my clothes are feeling tight and I just can’t blame the dryer any more – but I don’t have the energy/will-power/motivation to do anything about it
- Behind in getting all of the twin membership renewals into the database – and those really need to be there for the twin sale!!
- The house looks like a tornado went through
- Logan stopped nursing, and I’m trying to figure out if I miss it (mostly no!)
- More loads of laundry to put away than I can count (and more to do)
- Haven’t done anything in a while for one of my side jobs, and I feel like I’m letting them down

What’s in a Name?

I realized that I don’t have a post for the kids to know why we named them what we did…so I figured I’d fix that. I’d love to say we have this whole drawn out story, but as usual – decision making with Mike is super easy – we seem to be on the same page for a lot of things…especially the important stuff, so the story is pretty simple.
We’ll go in order of age. (Sorry, Burke, Maggie’s got you beat by 30 seconds…)
Maggie: You were named after my grandmother (1st name) and Mike’s mom (middle name).
Burke: Your first name is Mike’s grandmother’s maiden name. It also happens to be the middle name of Mike’s dad, his aunt, and his uncle. Your middle name is the same middle name as my grandfather (although, he went by it because he didn’t like his first name), my dad, and my brother.
Logan: We just liked the name Logan š Your middle name, though, is Mike’s dad’s name.
On a related note, Maggie – if you were a boy, you would be Jake (Jacob Peter). Logan – if you were a girl, you would be Zoe May. Burke – we knew from the get-go that you were a boy, so you’ve always been Burke.
Those Darn Monkeys: Laura – I think Monster spray may be good for the MOMMY environment š ā¦ Silver – If I remember correctly, lavender is one of the ingredients in Paula’s essential oil “recipe” … mmmm, LOVE lavender š
Copycat: Wow, Goddess…you ARE out of the loop š I believe Scrubs was “ended” on NBC, but picked up elsewhere. And I’m pretty sure that JD and Carla will be leaving after this season, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the show will be ending…although, I’m not sure how much of a show it will be without them. ā¦ WAC – Thanks for the Firefly discs. Seeing as how our TV tastes are fairly similar, I’m kinda excited about it. Although, you’re trying to get me hooked on a series that has already been canceled, so I’m just setting myself up for heartbreak. ā¦ Gio – We just can’t watch TV together š ā¦ Jon – I totally should have known you’d have some great insight!! Thanks š

Oh, I’m a Copycat and I Know It

Looks like the trend is to list what your DVR will be recording for the up-coming season…I’m all over that. We are now mixing two of my favorite veg things: Blogs and TV. LOL
I’ll just get it over and done with…Wonder Pets is taping, uh, whenever – for the kids. Cute crazy critter show. (Thanks, What a Card, for pointing us in that direction, the twins LOVE this show!)
Okay, now for the grown-up stuff. This is what I know so far. I’m sure there will be adjustments as the season progresses. I’m also going to have to check out which ones make it onto On Demand so that I may be able to better “tune” my DVR to those I can’t get at later…
America’s Got Talent is one we record, but that is like every freakin’ night, and should be ending soon, so I didn’t put it below.
Monday:
8:00 – Chuck
8:30 – How I Met Your Mother
9:00 – Heroes
9:30 – Two and a Half Men (This is one of the first to get dropped if I need to record something else though)
Tuesday:
8:00 – House
8:00 – 90210 (yep. I know.)
Wednesday:
8:00 – Pushing Daisies
8:00 – Bones
9:00 – Ghost Hunters (we have this set to record repeats as well)
9:00 – ‘Til Death (This is also one of the first to get dropped if I need to record something else)
Thursday:
8:00 – Survivor (oh ya. DIE HARD fan.)
9:00 – CSI (I’m assuming this is starting soon…?)

Can’t wait for Monk and Psych to come back

Can’t wait for In Plain Sight to come back
Can’t believe they canceled Shark
When does Scrubs start again? Different network, right? What happened to Rules of Engagement? Anyone know if that one is coming back? And I have both Fringe and The Mentalist set to record, but I obviously haven’t seen either of those yet (Missed the first Fringe … oops!), so I don’t know if they’ll stay on the list.

Those Darn Monkeys

Burke was up a lot last night. Mike went in a few times (and actually ended up sleeping on the floor with Burke after he woke up for the 4th time), and I went in once. My conversation with Burke when I went in:
Burke: (running and jumping into my arms as I opened the door) Monkeys eat Burke’s Soup! (pause – then *gasp*) In the eye!
Me: (very sleepy at 4am – not sure I’m hearing right) Huh? Monkeys ate your soup and are in your eye??
Burke: Yes!!
Me: Uhm. Burke, did you have a bad dream?
Burke: Yeah.
We sprayed the monster spray to get rid of the bad dreams and he went back to sleep on the rocking chair (for about 1/2 hour – see above).
When I went back in to our bedroom, Mike asked if he was okay and I told him of our conversation. Apparently Burke mentioned the monkey poked him in the eye when Mike went in the time before…but Mike didn’t realize it was a dream LOL
On a totally unrelated note, when Burke woke up this morning we had the following conversation:
Burke: Friends over to Burke’s house.
Me: What friends, Burke?
Burke: School friends.
Me: Which school friend?
Burke: All friends!
Okay then.
Vultures: faemom – I usually hide out in my kitchen if it’s chocolate or something like that. I should have known better. ā¦ What a Card – OMGosh! That’s the cutest thing EVER!! But OMG – I’m so not ready for that LOL! ā¦ Amy and Rhonda – I know, right? The kids won’t eat what I put in front of them, but will totally mooch off of Daddy’s plate…even if it’s the same exact thing. oy. ā¦ Silver – Geeez…I didn’t even THINK of that…perhaps this should be my new diet plan. Eat in front of the kids for ALL meals and snack and I’ll just starve to death š
Awww (again): Laura – I’m a tech writer. I have to follow the rules…it’s built in! heh Plus, I just copied and pasted from the person who passed it on to you *grin* (You just learned the secret to half of what I do all day at work LOL!)

Vultures

I made myself a bagel this afternoon and made the mistake of going into the room the kids were in. Within SECONDS all three (yes, ALL THREE) were right by my side begging for some. Needless to say, I didn’t get much. *sigh*
No Tears!: Gio, unfortunately, I have to head home to get some work done between drop off and pick up times…so much for solitude! ā¦ What a Card – thanks for the update on the kids (I know, I’ve seen you since, but it doesn’t seem right to just ignore you here š ā¦ Heather, Maggie’s red head always makes me stare at her…I just can’t get over how RED it is! (And honestly, these pictures don’t do her justice…)
Is It Just Me?: Once again, thank you to everyone who proved that’s it’s not just me š Bia – too funny about the sweats! ā¦ Tanya – Perhaps you should find some of that leave in conditioner LOL!

TOO HIGH!!!! (and too big!)

You’ve seen posts about the new swing set… And I think I mentioned that Mike and Jon were supposed to cement the swing down last Saturday. All I can say after viewing video from my nanny (from which the following picture is captured) is: THANK GOD Mike cemented it down on Sunday!!!
