Debi hosts the Baby Picture Sundays. Hop on over there to see who’s playing, and join in too!
This week’s theme is Buddha Bellies. Since my babies are little peanuts, I thought I’d post *my* Buddha belly.

Last night I was holding Logan while looking for some PJs for him. I was just kind of chatting with him like always, “Okay…we need to find your PJs….wonder where they are…oh – there they are!” And pulled them out saying, “Ta da!”
Next thing I know, he’s smiling and said “Ta da!” right back. It was super cute.
We, of course, ran downstairs to demonstrate to Daddy.

As a companion to my Ladies of Loserville post, I’m sharing my Chicken Ole’ recipe. Okay…so it’s not really my recipe. A very good friend made it for me one day, and I adapted it for my crock pot. I’ll include directions for both versions.
I love this recipe because it’s super easy and tastes SO good! And one serving – if I calculated correctly – is equal to 4 WW points. Mike and I ate this dish long before I decided to join Weight Watchers – so it’s not diet food! I was just super excited to see that it’s one of the better meals for me 🙂
Chicken Ole’
Ingredients:
- 4 Chicken Breast halves (which would be 2 chicken breasts, but I’ve found they come in halves) – boneless, skinless
- 2 jars of salsa (I use Green Mountain Gringo – THE best salsa!)
- 1 Lime
- Some squirts of mustard
Directions:
- Place the chicken in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Dump the salsa on top.
- Cut the lime in half, squirt the juice of both halves on top of the salsa.
- Squirt the mustard in and stir into the salsa (leaving the chicken on the bottom).
- Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours.
If you don’t have a crock pot, cube the chicken and then put everything into a frying pan and let it simmer until the chicken is cooked all the way through.
Serve over rice. (1 cup of white rice is another 4 WW points. But add a salad with no-fat dressing and this is an entire meal for 8 points!)

Bunches of you expressed an interest in knowing more about the coloring book/comic book pictures I posted last Friday. I thought they were cool too!!
I got the software with my camera, so here’s a big plug for Kodak… It’s the EasyShare software…and it looks like it’s free! I don’t know if that download is the same as what I’ve got … but if it is, it’s a much later version – so maybe there are cooler things to do now 🙂
Here is one picture with all of the different “fixins” done.

Original Picture
I enhanced the picture first so that the manipulated ones would turn out a little bit better. Enhance the picture by editing the picture and then clicking Enhance.

Enhanced
To get to the good stuff, you edit the picture and then click Fun Effects.

Spotlight

Coloring Book
(The coloring book one looks better bigger – you can click to enlarge it.)

Cartoon

Fish Eye
You can also change the “scene” if you click Scene Effects. These looked better when I started with the original picture (which is why I always save the new ones with different names 😉 )

Black and White

Sepia Tone
Happy manipulating! Let me know if you decide to do some…

The Music to My Ears post made me want to document my musical-like ventures as well…so here we go!
My musical experience started when I was pretty young. My mom used to do shows at the local Lyric Theater, so we’d get to go see her. Then, when I reached junior high/high school, the band (lead by my step-mother) used to take field trips into NYC to see musicals and museums. In college, Clarkson was so close to the Canadian boarder, we’d have field trips to Montreal to see theater productions there. When I lived in New Jersey, I had lots of opportunities to skip on over to Broadway. When I moved to the Boston area, I was able to attend shows here. Not as many as I’d like, but I’ve definitely hit a few.
Broadway/Boston/Montreal/etc
- Cats. 3 times I think. I saw this on Broadway and in Boston.
- Phantom of the Opera. Also 3 times, I think. Broadway (more than once) and in Montreal.
- Miss Saigon. Just once. In Montreal.
- The Scarlet Pimpernel. On Broadway MANY times, in Boston twice.
- Starlight Express. In Germany at the theater made especially for it (SO COOL!) and in Boston. It was better in German when I couldn’t completely understand it.
- Blast. In Boston. It was kind of like Stomp, but with brass. WAY cool.
- Rent. In Boston. Holy cow, awesome!
- Mama Mia. In Boston – with my sisters…one of which is a HUGE ABBA fan.
- Beauty and the Beast. On Broadway. Debra (formerly known as Debbie) Gibson was Belle.
- Chicago. In Boston. Didn’t love it.
- Cirque du Soleil. In Boston. WOW.
- Nabucco. (an opera) At the Met. Glad I can say that I went to the Met and saw an opera – but it’s definitely not my type of entertainment.
Community Theater
Shows that seemed huge at the time because I was much younger…
(not quite Broadway, but close enough when you’re in Vermont and there IS no Broadway.)
- Jesus Christ, Superstar
- Brigadoon
- Camelot
- South Pacific
- A Little Night Music
- Cabaret
- A Chorus Line

An in-real-life friend and blogger buddie, Goddess, has thrown down the gauntlet. She’s challenged fellow bloggers to join her in “searching for the wagon” – losing some weight. I’ve decided that I need to do just that and will be joining her. Goddess even set up a new blog for us to complain about track things. I’ll also try to be brave and keep updates going here – but I’ll mostly be tracking over there. Let’s just suffice it to say that I’m starting out at large.
Why crazy, you ask? Because I’ve joined the online version of Weight Watchers at prime foodie time. Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. Not to mention all that Halloween candy that we can’t let the KIDS eat… *sigh* This is going to take a *lot* of will power…I’m totally a meat and potatoes kinda gal. Although, I do really like WW’s zero point soup…
Poor Mike. I hope I don’t get too grumpy 🙂 And I hope he doesn’t mind some of my WW recipes…
Keep your fingers crossed for me! And here’s to hoping that I don’t chew through my desk.
