While looking through my photos for the WBW post, I came across this one.
It’s from Christmas 2005.

Reaching Generations
(If you look closely, my Dad is holding my Grandmother’s hand and holding out a ball to Maggie with the other hand…)

Usually when we head to Vermont, we stay in my Dad’s guest room (Logan and me) and the Library (Mike, Burke, and Maggie). However, my sister just moved into her new house and out of the in-law apartment, so we’re in a new space this time.
We put Logan in his own room and the twins in the living room in the toddler sleeping bags with a blow-up mattress built in. There was another blow-up mattress for Mike to sleep by the kids later on (so they don’t freak out when they wake up in the morning).
This is what I found when I went in before I went to bed.

These were taken the other day while we were playing in the back yard.
I have to preface this by saying that I got Logan dressed first…then Burke found a shirt to match and requested HIS overalls. Then Maggie saw the two of them matching and figured she wanted in on the fun as well, so she requested HER overalls.

It’s amazing what a new set of curtains can do for a room.
I forgot to take a “before” picture before putting the new ones up, so I found this photo from a previous post…not a great one, but you get the idea.

Before
These are the new curtains…a first step in our kitchen makeover – stay tuned for more!

After
And YES. The chickens will be leaving us when the renovations are complete 😉

Mike (and Indians fan) and I (a Red Sox fan) went the Sox/Indians game on Wedensday. The Indians won, but we had a good time anyway 😉

We were in the last row in our section…and Mike’s seat had a lovely obstructed view of Home plate.

I could see home plate from my seat…around the pole.

If we looked straight, we had a lovely view of 2nd base. (You gotta love Fenway! 😉 )

So. Am I the only one who thinks that pictures of cooked food never really looks that good?
That said, I’m going to show you our meal from Wednesday night. As you can see, I’m a HUGE fan of Pampered Chef (heck, I used to sell the stuff)…so the entire meal was made in stoneware. And let.me.tell.you… Baked potatoes in the fluted stoneware pan..? THE BEST.

Cookin'

Pork, Potatoes, and Ratatouille
(The extra dish is the leftover veggies that wouldn’t fit in the “real” ratatouille)

Ratatouille Close Up
The pork (recipe from Goddess), turned out a bit lot whiter than normal. I’m guessing that it’s because I let it sit and marinate for longer than normal (36 hours instead of 24). The Ratatouille was from some random website search that lead me to Smitten Kitchen. Much like the author, I saw the movie and had been wondering about that dish since. I’ve been meaning to make her version for a few weeks now. It turned out AWESOME. Who knew veggies could taste so good?!

If you follow my blog with any regularity, you know that Burke loves to color. Many times, when he comes home from school, the first thing that happens..? He takes his artwork out of his backpack and puts it on the fridge.
I was quite tickled when he showed me his latest picture:
