Bridging to Brownies

Maggie is officially a Brownie! She has such wonderful scout leaders. They’ve been with the troop for 2 years now and are going to continue with it next year as well. I’ve been so impressed with how much they’ve been able to accomplish!

Anyway – it was a sweet ceremony. 🙂

Sorry it’s so blurry – pretty sure Maggie RAN across the bridge 😉

Last Day of School!

Today was the last day of 1st Grade for Burke and Maggie. We didn’t miss the bus AT ALL this year! WOOT!! (There were definitely some close calls though…I’m sure the whole neighborhood has heard me yell, “Bus is at the top – RUUUUN!!” (Our bus stops at the top of our street, goes one street more and heads down that one and then cuts back to stop at the bottom of our street. We chose to use the bottom bus stop – less traffic.)

My New Life

I’m now getting my butt kicked by a 4 year old while playing Pig Mania. Ah, the life of a stay-at-home-mom 😉

*Disclaimer: This is hardly how I spend most of my days 😉

Family Poker Night

Mike had his poker buddies over the other night so we happened to be talking about it in front of the kids. Burke asked to learn…and since I’ve never actually played before, I thought it might be fun too!

We’ve had a few Family Poker Nights and they are fun! We’ve had to stop allowing the kids to raise their bids though … holy long games when they’re allowed to just plop penny after penny (out of Daddy’s penny jar!) into the pot.

The Little Guy is Winning

My Little Daredevil

Logan has been begging for a skateboard. I’ve been dead set against it because…well…I’d rather he be in a bubble. BUT, I know that can’t happen. And since he pretty much kicks butt without training wheels on his bike – I figured he could probably handle the skateboard.

And when we ventured to Ocean State Job Lot for the first time…there they were – for $10. His eyes lit up when I told him he could pick one out.

(Don’t let the pictures fool you…he’s not actually moving here. 😉 )

McCormick Grill Party

Did someone say Grill? And Party? Mike must be involved!! 🙂

Crowdtap sent a  big package with all sorts of cool seasonings and sauces in it. So Mike set to work and made: hot dogs, burgers, chicken, pork chops, and potatoes. The burgers were the BIGGEST hit. He made them with the Molasses Bacon seasoning and they were *so* good! (Someone even asked where he bought the burgers, LOL!)

We had 48 people here. Yes. *48*!! In all honesty, since it was all in the back yard, it really didn’t seem all that crowded. And since they’re all my friends, everyone got along fantastically! (I have to admit…I was a bit worried since it was people from all areas of my life!) The kids were all fantastic. The older ones were entertaining the littler ones – and actually enjoying it 🙂 At one point, I believe Logan had all of the 6 year olds held “hostage” up in the tree house with his tiny little water gun. that was empty. LOL!! That kid. 🙂

Logan Graduated! (Again – #2 of 3)

Logan’s preschool holds a graduation for each and every class – even if they’re coming back next year. (See last year’s.) It’s super cute and really cool if the kid isn’tcoming back the following year (which happens). Logan still has one more year though. 🙂

Logan is Playing Soccer

Have I mentioned lately that our town is awesome? We have such a wonderful Rec department. Burke and Maggie played Soccer through them in 2010…and now it’s Logan’s turn.

Since he has older siblings, he sees how they’re dressed for outdoor soccer. So we had to make a special trip to target to find shin guards. LOL! They had these cool soccer socks with the shin guards built right in! Perfect.

He LOVED every minute of it!

Recital Day!

First Red Sox Game!

We’re at the kids’first professional game!!
