On Sinuses

Oh sinuses – why must you feel like you’re packed full of toilet paper? And head…oh, dizzy head…stop making my eyes feel like they’re spinning.

It’s making me grumpy.

Way Back When-esday

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Go on over to see who else is playing – and join in too!

This picture was taken on May 6, 2005. Burke and Maggie were just over 4 months old. (And DANG was it hard to get them both to smile at the same time!! Burke – not a problem. Maggie? Yikes. 😉 )

Burke and Maggie

One Crazy Summer

When did Summer get so busy? And so expensive??

So far – in addition to keeping Nanny C on full-time – we have the following planned:

  • 2 weeks of swim lessons (in addition to the lessons from Aunt Meghan while we’re in Vermont) for all 3 kids
  • Gym class (once a week) for all 3 kids
  • A week of Bible School for all 3 kids
  • A week in Vermont (with a wedding to go to!!!)
  • A week of mixed sports sampler for all 3 kids

And then at the end of Summer (mid-August), Flag Football starts for Burke and Cheering (for Flag Football) starts for Maggie.

And then all of the Fall activities start up again! Yikes.

Okay – looking at the list, it seems…excessive. But a few of those (swimming and Gym) are an hour each time…and the others (Bible School and Sports) are morning sessions. So it’s not like I have them running around all day every day, there’s still lots of back yard and beach time 🙂

Now That’s Just Sad.

My legs are sore. Why, you ask? I’ll tell you. Because I’ve been painting.

Yes. Painting.

We’re redoing Maggie’s room (Holy GIRLY – pictures when it’s done)…so I’ve been rollering the walls. Which means squats. My body is not used to squats!!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Ice cream for dinner (in the rain!) 🙂

Fuddruckers!!

So much fun to say. 🙂

Even better to eat! Yum!

I’ve Run Out…

…of things to say.

…of time to say them even I have had things to say.

(I can’t believe two days have gone by with no posts!!! Yikes. I am a slacker.)

Bounce!

Some good friends received a new-to-them trampoline and invited the kids to come jump.

To say they are having fun is a bit of an understatement 😉
(Thanks for the pics, Mel!)

Conflicted

I could easily do a post about what makes my Monday today. It’s all over the news that Bin Laden was shot and killed last night. And a part of me really wants to do a happy dance about that. He’s been the most hated man in the US since 9/11.

However, I’m saddened. I can understand wanting to celebrate (see above); but the images on the news are frighteningly similar to those you see when there are gatherings overseas celebrating the fall of someone over here. The images we condone. The images that make the US people angry at those overseas.

What must they be thinking of us right now? I’m sure they’re seeing the same images – people in the streets celebrating that one of their leaders has been killed. How is it okay for the US to behave like this when it’s certainly not okay for others to do so? I seriously hope the US is prepared for the retaliation that will certainly be attempted.

So while I’m breathing a bit easier that he’s no longer a threat, I’m not going to be out celebrating in the streets.

I suppose Clarence Darrow sums it up quite nicely:
I’ve never wished a man dead, but I’ve read some obituaries with great pleasure.

He’s the (Current) Man!

Maggie is super happy because we just bought a bedroom set for her from this "guy" (Bob’s Discount Furniture).
