Stories

Instead of a post, I wrote a page that will hopefully show up on the right-hand side under “Who’s in the Zoo?”. However, I can’t seem to make the page ordering work right now so it’s considered a sub-page. We’ll see if I can figure it out 🙂

Part one of “our” story is The Meeting.

More to come!

Daddy and His Kiddos

Debi did it again, and of course, I’m joining in again 🙂

Here are some of my favorite daddy and his kiddo photos. I know there are more, but I’ve changed laptops a few times, so here’s what I could find!

Yard With a View

Front Yard

The festivities in town are less than two miles away at the local high school. Therefore, Mike and I put the kids to bed, had some dinner and then stepped out onto our front steps to watch the fireworks. My (cool) camera has a “Fireworks” setting! This is the first time I’ve used it…not *the* best pictures, but the following were taken from our steps last night.

Back Yard

Mike took today off from work (WOO HOO!) and we played in the back yard pretty much all day with the kids. We hit church this morning (it’s just not the same with no one working in the nursery!!) and then came home to the pool and fun in the sun. A good day was had by all *grin*

Fun Food on the 4th

Mike Grilled up some *really* tasty stuff: Steak, ribs, hotdogs, kielbasa, potatoes, peppers, onions, and zucchini. And we made some corn as well. The pan fried version of it all was darn good last night too. On the 4th, we also had watermelon…Burke’s 1st piece was almost as big as him! 🙂 (yes, he had more than one…and then more for breakfast yesterday!!)

Maggie enjoyed it too.

One last picture…Logan is playing with the BoredBoard Mike made for the twins a few years ago.

Let’s Go Fly a Kite

Mike took the Twins to the Park to fly their kites for the first time yesterday. They had a blast! Mike said that the other parents were in awe when he was able to get both kites up for the kids at the SAME TIME! I missed it since Logan was napping. (You’re totally singing the Mary Poppins song now, aren’t you 😉 )

Here are some pics (click on one to see it larger):

Maggie’s trying to get her Kite in the air – she’s got the right idea!

She got it!

Burke looks like an old pro.

Steak with a Side of Hotdogs

Add some ribs and asparagus and you’ve got our dinner tonight. Yep. For real. Ask my family and they’ll know: Mike’s been grilling again! 🙂 The only thing missing in tonight’s fair was some sort of potato…and that’s just cuz we forgot LOL

Just had to brag, cuz it was GOO-OOD.

Holy Cow! I Found It!

I’m not even sure what “it” is, or WHEN I found it…but I realized JUST TODAY that it has been found. Perhaps I’ve been too busy to notice before (or just too tired). I was putting Logan to bed, just thinking about things when the realization hit me like a ton of bricks. (how sad is it that I immediately thought “hey! I should write about that in my blog!”??)

Let’s backtrack a bit. Have you ever had the feeling that you’re waiting for something, but you didn’t know what, exactly, you were waiting for? Ya. that was me. my whole life! I had *NO IDEA* what the something was; I just felt it. There were definitely times when I thought to myself “THIS is what I was waiting for” just to realize “nope. still feeling like something is missing. Maybe when <this> happens the feeling will go away.” (wow – can you tell that I document software for a living? Insert variable <this> here. LOL)

Hm. how to wrap this thought up. I think I’ll end by saying Thank You to Mike because I’m pretty sure he helped me find what ever it was I was looking for – without even knowing he was helping me out. That’s just the kind of guy he is. Thanks honey 🙂
