Potty training is going pretty well. Maggie has gone for a few days without any accidents! And she even poos in the potty. I’m so proud π
Burke doesn’t like to poo in the potty. At all. Lemme tell you – this is a fun stage. oy. He’d gotten pretty good at peeing in the potty and had even interrupted one of his “snits” to use the potty. Nice, right?
Today when I asked them both to use the potty before we went out to play in the back yard, he said “No. Pee in the grass. Like Daddy.” Uhm. I’m HOPING that he meant he wanted to pee in the grass standing up and not that he wanted to pee in the grass cuz he saw Daddy do this. (I’m fairly certain Daddy wouldn’t do this – perhaps in his former college days, but not now π ) Needless to say, I didn’t let him pee in the grass. (We do have a potty in the back yard though, and he peed standing up into it…)
Since he’s been peeing “like Daddy” for the past few days, there’s no guarantee that he’ll hit his mark. I don’t mind that he wants to stand (it’s actually pretty cute), but it was definitely a bit neater when he would sit and “push it down.” He also thought it would be fun to pee on the rug yesterday. at my feet. naked. while company was here. *sigh* Sure – he hits THAT mark.

I’ve heard that potty training little boys is quite a challenge until they get the aiming thing down. However, I will take a little pee-pee on the floor (and walls, and everywhere else) over bathtub poop ANY DAY!
I think it’s definitely a primal and joyous instinct for a man to want to pee outside. I had a nephew that thought nothing of taking care of business in the outdoors…in front of crowds. I’m glad he finally saw the need to cut it out. …(Though I got many laughs out it.)
Can I just say I wanna pee outside like Daddy? π Poor Sarah, she got SO frustrated when I’d let her brother pee on the tire in a parking lot in emergency. Potty training two…the stories you’ll have to tell! π
My Logan had trouble going #2 in the potty too at first. One thing I learned though – I am not above bribery. And when it comes to potty-training it is completely worth it π
He tried standing up and peeing like Daddy the other day and I think my whole wall got sprayed! It was not pretty!!
Potty training is NOT going well here. I just keep hoping they will wake up one day and be magically trained! (I wish)
