Game Ball

On Thursday, Burke had his 3rd little league game. MAN the kid is good!!

He was up to bat 4 times…and made it onto base (with a legitimate hit) all 4 times…and made it home all 4 times!!

On top of that, he made a fantastic catch at Short Stop. Fly ball that was *almost* over his head – he caught it and fell back on his butt. All the parents around me were like, “Woah! Who was that? Derrick?” And before I could even think about it, I blurted out, “That’s Burke!! That’s MY kid!” Ya. I swore I’d never say those words LOL! The very next play came to Burke at Short Stop again. This time a ground ball – which he fielded perfectly…and then tossed it over to the 3rd baseman – who caught it – for the out!

At the end of the game, Coach B called all of the boys to the bench to chat about when the next practice was and then ceremoniously handed Burke the Game Ball. Oh man, you should have seen Burke’s FACE!! It was awesome. Coach B spoke about what an incredible game Burke had – and all the other boys agreed and cheered.

Oh, and that was the first Game Ball to be given out…and the only one to be given out so far. (And yes, there has been a game since then.)

I’m so proud πŸ™‚

Little League!

Burke has started Little League. And he’s pretty good at it too. (Surprise, surprise.)

Our town starts out the season with a parade! The entire league marches – from the Rookies all the way through to the “Majors” – have I mentioned lately that I love our town?

Burke is a Dodger – #16.

Another Tooth Down

Maggie lost a top tooth today πŸ™‚

(I don’t think I wrote about the 3rd one she lost…that wasn’t even loose. Burke helped a bit with that one. Oops.)

Soccer!

Maggie (finally) decided she wants to play soccer again!!

When sign-ups started – months ago – I asked Maggie if we should sign her up for Spring soccer…figuring she’d say “YES!” because she’d finally started to look like she liked it toward the end of Spring Season, AND she was getting better at it. No dice. So…I asked about every other week or so to see if she’d changed her mind. Nope. Until, that is, my friend D came to visit.

D has coached soccer for about 20 years and she’s REALLY good at it. Her daughter is Maggie’s age, so she’s coaching this age group. We somehow got on the topic of soccer while she was here (surprise, surprise) and she asked Maggie if she’d be playing. “No.” Thank God for D – she then said, “What if I’m your coach, would you play then?” Maggie practically leaped out of her seat and screamed “YES!!” I was like, “Wait – you can do that? She’d definitely be on your team?” Turns out – she can! πŸ™‚

So, Maggie is having the time of her life and LOVING soccer. She wants to play forever – as long as D is her coach. . . which D says can happen. Sweet!

My Toes are Ready for Summer: Kiss Nail Dress Review

Look at my toes!!!

My Toes: 3/19

Influenster and Kiss sent me some Nail Dresses to try out and review. I have to admit, when I first saw them I was a bit apprehensive. There was no way I was going to put leopard print on my nails. And then I remembered I have other nails – my toe nails!!

These things are incredibly easy to use – they’re basically nail-shaped stickers that you apply and then file down to size. I actually cut all of mine in half because they’re pretty long (and my toe nails are pretty short.) There’s no dry time – so they’re perfect for busy moms who never know when the kids are going to call out for help.

I was worried that they’d either fall off right away or that I’d never be able to get them off. Boy was I wrong on both counts! I wore these with sandals (during that crazy 80 degree weather at the end of March) and then with socks and shoes (when the weather went back to typical Spring weather) and the Nail Dresses didn’t budge. And yes, my kids even stepped on my toes during that time! When it came time to take them off, all I had to do was pick up an edge and lift. SO.EASY!!

Kiss claims they’ll last for 10 days. I took them off after 16 days had gone by – but only because I was worried about what I’d find under them or that I’d have a tough time getting them off – not because they were starting to look shabby.

My Toes 4/4

I’m definitely going to be using these again. Perhaps in a different pattern next time (although, I have to admit, I kind of got used to the flirty leopard print! *grin* )

Easter Egg Hunt

The kids went to the Easter egg hunt at my hometown church today. πŸ™‚

Masks

I love the kids’ imaginations πŸ™‚ I got masks for $1 from AC MOORE that the kids colored and then used to act out various scenes.

Maggie figured out that if she stuck the stick part in her shirt, she doesn’t have to hold it. LOL!
