Giveaway: You’re All My Favorites

Sorry, this giveaway is now CLOSED.

I’ve been reading You’re All My Favorites by Sam McBratney to Logan each night before bed. To say that this story is incredible for families with more than one kid is an understatement.

This wonderful story is about a family of bears: mom, dad, and 3 baby bears. Each night, they’re told that they’re all the best bears in the world – which makes them feel safe and secure until one night when they ask which one is the favorite. The mommy bear’s answer to each baby bear is fantastic!!

This is one of Logan’s favorite books. And I’m thinking that I should probably round up Burke and Maggie and read it to them too – that just hasn’t happened yet. (Bad Mommy! 😉 )

Because I love this book so much – I want to give one to you!!

To Enter to Win the book:

There are multiple ways to enter. Only one of the ways to enter is mandatory, all of the others are optional – you do not have to do all of them to be entered!

You have until Midnight on Wednesday, March 9th to enter. The winner will be posted on Thursday the 10th.

Mandatory – 1 entry:

  • How do you let your kids know that they are all your favorites?

Year 6 Wellness Check Up

Burke and Maggie had their wellness visit today. They both giggled a bit at the Johnnies. 🙂 Of course…the Johnnies are a wee bit too big for them LOL!

Before going, Magie declared that she did *not* want a flu shot. Luckily, I was able to promise that she wouldn’t get one 😉 They DID have to have a Chicken Pox booster though. (Nothing that the promise of Happy Meals couldn’t cure…)

Dr. Doctor – who has twins of her own – mentioned (more than once) that we should have professional photos done of them, especially together…because they’re absolutely gorgeous. I take that as a HUGE compliment coming from someone who sees kids all day every day.

The Stats

Burke:
39 pounds
44.5 inches

Maggie:
43 pounds
45 inches

The Best Kind of Shopping

I’m not much of a shopper. Especially for clothes. Oh sure, every now and again I’ll go and look through some shops, but I’d much rather go to a craft store…or a book store (before I got my Kindle, anyway). And even though I’m in the grocery store just about every other day … doesn’t mean I like it!

So when I found a fellow twin mom who has boy/girl twins a year older than Burke and Maggie – who also has great taste in clothing (that lasts), I hit pay dirt. Nearly every season I go “shopping” in her closet and find lots of cool stuff! Pants, shirts, coats, shoes…you name it, she’s got it.

It’s a win-win – she doesn’t have to lug it all to the consignment shop (or the twin sale), and I don’t have to go real shopping!! (Thanks, Lisa 🙂 )

Wii – Mario Kart

The kids were introduced to Wii Mario Kart today…I’m thinkin’ it migt be bringing out the devil in them LOL!
(I have no idea why all 3 have crazy eyes in this picture..)

Saturday Snapshot: Car Cart

We hit Home Depot to purchase a new Thermostat. The kids love these carts 🙂

Way Back When-esday

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Go on over to see who else is playing – and join in too!

This picture is from February 2007. Maggie was 2 years old.

Purple Piggy Tails

ADAD

Another Day, Another Disease.

We now have a stomach virus working its way through the house.

Logan was hit over the weekend. He’s just starting to be able to keep things down.

I felt queasy Sunday and Monday. I was worried about keeping things down, but managed to be okay.

Maggie woke up with a scream last night…when we went in to see what was wrong, the first thing out of her mouth was “I don’t think I can go to A’s tomorrow.” (She was supposed to have a playdate with her BFF – breakfast with her and a “for as long as A’s mom can stand her” playdate.) She’s still complaining of her tummy hurting today, but she’s been keeping her food down since that one episode last night.

And now Mike’s heading home from work with the ick. And you KNOW it has to be bad for Mike to leave work!!

My Super Heroes

All 3 kids love playing Super Hero…and even more so when the jammies help 🙂

Maggie is usually the crise director and tells everyone their name and what their powers are.

Today, Mike is Daddy-O and his super hero powers are back scratching, huge hugs, and super strength.

Saturday Snapshot: Love Notes

Maggie came home the other day and told me that she was going to be marrying her boyfriend, Charlie, and I’m invited – so I should start looking for my invitation.

She even asked Nanny C. for her address so she could send off an invitation to her too.

Today she got out all of her girly heart stickers and started writing a note…and asked me how to spell Charlie. She says they love each other very much (and even sat beside each other *two* times in a row!)

If I can get past the horror of “OMG, they’re too young for all of this!!” and fixate on the “I wonder what this all *really* means to her”…it’s actually pretty cute.

I’m not so sure I’m ready for the requested playdate though!!

Friday’s Fotos: Home Improvements

We had an electrician come in this week to make some minor updates: light switch for the downstairs bathroom, second outlet on the porch, and hook the lights by the mantel up to the switch by the door.

He was also there to do two bigger things: move the thermostat, and install vanity lights in the bathroom.

We moved the thermostat from the living room (where the pellet stove is) to the master bedroom/office (where I freeze all day). We shut off the radiators downstairs…we’ll see if that works 🙂

And the vanity lights – oh my! I’m having a love/hate relationship with them 🙂 On one hand – it’s SO NICE to actually see my face in the mirror. On the other hand – My oh my the gray hair I’m now seeing!!
