I’ve been reading You’re All My Favorites by Sam McBratney to Logan each night before bed. To say that this story is incredible for families with more than one kid is an understatement.
This wonderful story is about a family of bears: mom, dad, and 3 baby bears. Each night, they’re told that they’re all the best bears in the world – which makes them feel safe and secure until one night when they ask which one is the favorite. The mommy bear’s answer to each baby bear is fantastic!!
This is one of Logan’s favorite books. And I’m thinking that I should probably round up Burke and Maggie and read it to them too – that just hasn’t happened yet. (Bad Mommy! 😉 )
Because I love this book so much – I want to give one to you!!

The Zimmer Zoo 
Oh, that sounds too cute! Count me in.
I certainly try to be equal-ish with my kids and attention, and am always telling them they’re my very favorite Daniel and my very favorite Becca. 🙂
I have a special song that I sing to each of them when they are sad, hurt or just need some special cuddling time. I do not sing their song to the other, its their special tune that brings warmth and comfort. Audrey gets it and LOVES it and will even ask to cuddle and have me sing, Ethan just snuggles in. Its also my FAVORITE time with them!
I tell them all they’re my favorite when I tuck them in at night “You’re my favorite girl”, “you’re my favorite little man” etc.
They all also have their own special outtings or things they help Mommy with that only they do. They are the “special” one for that particular thing.
It’s not that hard because at any given moment of the day, there is one that is my favorite…and it changes CONSTANTLY!
This sounds like a book that we would enjoy. I don’t think T or I have favorites, but Tiny is definitely a mama’s girl and Buba is more of a daddy’s boy. Yesterday, I had to take Buba, against his will, out for a little Mommy and Buba time. He was fine once we got out and about, but I felt bad listening to him say, “I want to stay home with my daddy.” the whole time I was putting his shoes and coat on.
We also do the whole “You’re my favorite Tiny, and you’re my favorite Buba” thing at our house. For now, it seems to be working. :o)
Neither kid has asked yet if one or the other is a favorite. I hope they will never seriously have a reason to wonder this. We try to be so careful about treating them both fairly and and loving them for who they are. They’re both my favorites!
