Fridayโ€™s Foto Finish Fiesta

This edition of Fx4 is brought to you by Maggie’s new digital camera.

Pictures taken by Maggie:

(You can put scenes on the pictures!)

Don’t get me wrong…there are a whole bunch that are black, or really fuzzy cuz she moved the camera while taking the picture…there are a lot of butt and chest shots as well. (What do you expect when that’s pretty much what she actually sees…)

Burke uses the camera as well, and I’m SUPER impressed with his artistic eye. I may have to dedicate a post to Burke’s creativity, but for now, here are a few he took:

And…Christmas night, the adults got into the Porron (an Italian wine decanter that has a spout on it…so you can pour it directly into your mouth) – fast becoming a Christmas tradition at our house. Remember that whole “you can add scenes to pictures” thing? Needless to say, there were a few pictures taken:

Christmas Morning Craziness

With 13 people gathered – 4 under the age of 4, Christmas morning can get a little overwhelming.

Burke and Maggie found their stockings almost immediately.

And where was Logan this fine morning at 8am?

Sleeping

Logan slept until 9:30 until my Dad went in and poked him. Poor guy had two nights in a row where he was up until after 9pm … of COURSE he was sleeping in!

Tradition at our house is to open the stockings and presents from Santa (in PJs, of course) and then about half of us go to church. Sharon, Jason, and Grey have breakfast with with her in-laws. Everyone who doesn’t go to church, gets dressed and plays with toys that have been opened.

Grandma - Christmas 2005

Grandma - Christmas 2005

She would be horrified if she knew I was posting it, but it’s one of my favorites of my Grandma. She never got through all of her gifts ๐Ÿ™‚

This was taken exactly 1 month and 1 day before she passed away.

I have a very creative brother-in-law (he’s an art teacher). So any time we all get together, the kids – of course – have a BLAST. These pictures were taken at Thanksgiving of 2007. Jason decided he was going to turn the twins into dinosaurs with random things found around my Dad’s house.

Note the clever use of kitchen clippy magnets as the spine and the pop beads as the tail.

I believe Jason even did Maggie’s crazy hair.

Awesome Visit

My mom flew up from Florida and hung out with us for the entire weekend. As most Grannies do, she came bearing gifts…that have been played and played and played with. I think Burke’s new book has already been read about 20 times…probably more!

Granny Frani showed up at our doorstep Friday afternoon and played with the kids all evening. Aunt Cathy came over too, as Granny Frani was actually staying with her. They both left after a chicken and broccoli braid meal (Love Pampered Chef!), but came back on Saturday with a yummy lunch! We spent much of Saturday afternoon in the back yard at the swing set. Did I get any pictures? nope.

Ordered dinner from one of our favorite pizza joints and then said goodnight to Aunt Cathy and Granny Frani again.

On Sunday, Granny Franni came back to go to church with us. We’ve been attending this church since January and *love* the people there. Jury’s still out on the minister, but he’s slowly growing on us. SLOWLY. Anyway – more people nodded in recognition to my mom saying “I’m Maggie’s Grandma” than to “I’m Nancy’s Mom.” Go figure ๐Ÿ˜‰ I guess that’s to be expected after getting a hand-written note from one of the elders letting us know that they missed us and our red-heads. LOL (We missed two weeks in a row due to our anniversary and then the entire family being ill.)

I FINALLY remembered to take some pictures on Sunday.

The twins loved playing with Granny Frani and had an absolute blast with the stickers.

Logan…not so much.

A crock pot meal, and Granny was off to Aunt Cathy’s house and had to leave early Monday morning.

Burke’s first words when he woke up on Monday? “It’s morning time. Where’s Granny Frani??”

…apparently he had a good time ๐Ÿ™‚

HAPPY

Happy Birthday (Nana) Sue!

We hope you have a great day and eat lots of cake ๐Ÿ™‚

The kids talk about going to Grandpa and Nana’s house all the time…can’t wait to see you guys next month!

HAPPY

Happy Birthday (Aunt) Meghan!!

I still can’t believe you’re 17. That’s like, half my age!

See you soon!
