Mature Taste Buds?

I ran across some Fun Dip yesterday – on sale because they were Valentines Day cards – and snapped them up because my memory of Fun Dip is a good one. Actually…I don’t really like the “dip” part much, but I remembered *loving* those sticks. You know what I’m talking about … it came in a three-pouch design with a stick on each end. I think the flavors were grape, cherry, and … lime? I remember racing to get through the packs with just one stick just so I could enjoy the second stick without the extra sugar.

Guess what? Either they’ve changed the recipe for those sticks, or *gasp* my taste buds have matured.

I suppose I should come to terms with it. A few years ago I got really excited to have some Beefaroni with my kids. Do you know how much I looked forward to that? Do you know how disgusting it really is??

And Fluff. I wanted a Fluffernutter … but … ya, you know the rest. Blech.

AND! AND! To make matters worse?? I actually like tomatoes now. What the heck??

  1. CHEESE TOAST!!

That’s what Scott and I call food that we remember as being “really awesome” only to realize that, now as adults, it’s really NOT THAT GREAT.

(Cheese toast is from Sizzler restaurants….it’s a piece of white bread, buttered on one side and sprinkled with kraft parm cheese. It’s all-right, but NOT the world’s best food offering as Scott said it would be)

  2. This is very funny and I agree. I know that I LOVED spaghetti o’s, but they have lost their sparkle.
I don’t even like soda very much but I LIVED for it when I was a kid.
And I don’t think you could FORCE me to eat a PIXIE STICK now but I LOVED them too way back when.
    Good post.

  3. I know what you mean! I used to eat frosting right out of the can when I was younger, but now I can barely stand it on cake. I look back at what I ate as a kid and almost get ill at the thought.

  4. I used to love the sticks, the sugar I could do without. Yuuuuck to beefaroni, but I still looooooove fluffanutters!

  5. After washing onto the island of Calypso, Odysseus spends seven years with her, though each day he mourns for his wife.

When Roman Catholic Spain began colonizing, they found that “All Souls Day” coincided with Native American traditions regarding the souls
of the dead, and thus the “Day of the Dead” was established.
Over time all of these shortcuts will deterioration your internet page.
