Makes My Monday: The 80’s?

Maggie requested a side ponytail for school today… (are the 80’s *really* coming back into style??)

When she got back home, she donned her roller skates.

I totally had an 80’s flashback. (And…I THINK that Makes My Monday πŸ˜‰ )

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Head on over to see what else makes people’s Mondays (there are always some really good ones!)

Logan’s Lump

A little eerie that my WBW post this week was when Maggie landed in the ER because she hit her head… Logan smacked HIS head in the same exact spot today. He and Burke were fooling around in a fireplace store (more about why we were there later), and I’m not 100% sure what happened, but I’m fairly certain there was a slight push involved.

It’s nowhere near the level of emergency of Maggie’s, but the poor kid has got to have a whoper of a headache.

Saturday Snaphot: Family Dinner

We don’t get to eat dinner as a family during the week because Mike doesn’t get home until 7:00. So on the weekends, I try to have us all eat together.

And the kids are finally getting old enough that they can use real dishes! Yeah!

Friday’s Fotos: It’s Fall and “Ho Ho Ho”

Both of these pictures were texted to me.

Mike sent the one of the kids in the leaves while I was at the MMOTA State Convention and Nanny Jessica sent the one of Logan lookin’ like Santa while I was with Burke at his art class. Gotta love technology πŸ™‚

It's Fall!!

HO HO HO!!

(The leaf one is now the background on my phone πŸ™‚ )

Crazy Book Lady

We already know I like (okay, LOVE) books. We already know that I’m crazy and can’t say “no” when asked to do something. Now, I’m not sure if lady is the right word for me, but it’s the right gender πŸ˜‰

So…when you put ’em all together … you’ll find that I’m now an Independent Consultant for Usborne Books!! I can do home parties, eParties, and fundraisers. (It’s kind of like a tupperware party, but with books. How cool is that??)

These books are for kids from birth through teen-aged years…and they’re educational. But not only are they educational, they’re fun. The tag line is The books kids love to read! (We have a few – it’s true. They’re fantastic.)

Way Back When-esday

Cheryl over at Twinfatuation hosts this one. Go on over to see who else is playing – and join in too!

Three years ago today is when Maggie was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance because she whacked her head and ended up passing out and then throwing up when she came-to. (I’ve written about it before.)

This picture is from the day after: November 18, 2007.

F is For Fields

Burke’s class is putting on a play next week. Each kids has a different letter to represent the part of the story they’re supposed to “read.”

Today’s assignment was to create a picture to help remember the words. Nanny Jessica helped out a little (the river, the corn, some tufts of grass, and the watermelons). Burke drew the rest.

I’m particularly impressed with his people!

The words he has to read:
F is for Fields
The Pilgrims found forests and fields where
The native people had planted corn. They also
Found clean water to drink.

Makes My Monday: Good Kids

I love that I can take my kids to a restaurant – by myself!

I’m Going to Disney!

Well…we all are πŸ™‚

I just booked our very first REAL family vacation!! (Sorry folks, weeks/weekends in Vermont don’t really count. I mean…it’s a vacation, but … you know!) We’re headed to Disney in January. I’m SO EXCITED!!!!! Mike’s never been there – so he has no clue as to how excited he really should be. LOL

And we haven’t told the kids, so…shhhhh!!!!! I believe – if we can wait that long – the vacation plans will be reveled as a Christmas present.

Have I mentioned that I’m excited?

Saturday Snapshot: Snip, Snip!

Remember the silhouettes we had done as Christmas gifts last year? We did another silhouette today! I was bummed last year because she was only able to do 3 copies (which all went as gifts). So this year’s silhouette is MINE. πŸ™‚

And while I think last year’s was more true to what the kids looked like then (as opposed to this year’s looking sorta like them), I’m still really happy with how it came out! (And Jean is still amazing. It’s so cool to watch her craft.)

A picture of the framed silhouette

(I forgot to mention that Burke and Maggie are twins, so she made Maggie “older” than the rest…which, I think, is why I like last year’s better…)
