Maggie’s teachers have asked us – more than once – if Maggie speaks at home. You’re kidding me, right? We can’t get her to stop talking. Or singing. Or just babbling.
Apparently, she speaks not a word at school. Not a single one. If she wants something she grunts for it (oy). I asked Mrs. Teacher if she was telling Maggie to use her words…(silly question, I know.)
One afternoon Mrs. Teacher told me that they witnessed Maggie going into one of the play structures they have outside and then babbling away. When she came back out, she was completely silent again.
And she only told me this story after showing surprise (“She does talk!”) when Maggie answered my question of who was in the picture she was coloring (Cookie Monster).
The people at church asked us if she ever speaks as well…
I’m baffled.

That’s so funny! One of the little girls who came to Bee’s party was like that. She was totally silent, and would only speak if you asked her a question. I asked her Mom if she was shy, and she was so surprised. She said, “At home we can’t get her to shut up!”
Congrats to Logan on his first steps! What a big grown-up boy!
Aren’t kids funny?? My Emily was similar for a long time, extrovert at home and a girl of few words at preschool. I figured it had something to do with not liking to talk when she had clothes on.
