Last night I actually got to bed early!! Like, 10:45 early. Woo hoo! (I guess that’s what a presidential debate will do for you…)
At what I thought was the wee hours of the night (but was actually only 11:45), I heard some coughing through the monitor – okay, lots of coughing. Two nights ago, this coughing was Burke and I had to wake him up to give him some meds. I hated to wake him up to give him the meds, but hey, a mom has to sleep too! So last night I just automatically assumed that it was Burke again. It SOUNDED like him…
Bleary eyed, I got up and got the meds, went into the twins’ room and again, woke Burke up just enough to shoot some meds into his mouth. . . at which time Maggie coughed. But only a little. With bleary head, I thought, “oh, she’s doing her typical ‘I see meds and I want some, so I’ll fake my little cough’ thing. Little drama queen!” And so went back into my room.
About 10 minutes later I hear more coughing…that sounds a lot less like Burke now. *sigh* Did I give the meds to the wrong kid??
Up again, more meds…go in and say “Maggie, I have medicine for you.” Her eyes pop open – as does her mouth. I shoot the meds into her mouth and hear “MMMM mmmm!” Eyes shut. LOL Perhaps I should try to get her into a Campbell’s Soup commercial…
