  1. Yup, love the site!
Just cruised through some of the Q&A and found one very applicable to a discussion hubby and I often have about Alaina. I’m going to quote Dr. R tonight and point out to Brian that Alaina is “thoughtful and curious rather than anxious and timid”. Love it!

  2. I like the site. Very positive outlook. I learned that “children who believe they have control are more likely to feel happy and experience less anxiety.” Thanks!

  3. Went to the site – really good stuff. However, what I learned was that the activities are for older kids and my one year old twins aren’t old enough for me to start doing these things, but I will keep the site in mind when they get older.

Sidenote – your boys in the top picture look SO much alike and similar ages. They look like twins to me 🙂

  4. Fun! I looked through the website and I like the idea of the “shake the frustration out” dance. Hadn’t thought of that, tho we have done the “shake your sillies out” dance. 😉

We tried the “in your shoes” activity yesterday when one of my kids stole the other’s lovey. Looks like there are some great ideas that will be better when the kids are a bit older.

  5. Okay, I poked around and was interested to see they have a book club for adults. Wish they had an online discussion area for it, though!

  6. I didn’t realize being optimistic had that much of an effect on your health!!

  7. I enjoyed the article about how we can learn to be more positive and optimistic, no matter how we’re wired. I know this is important for both kids and adults!

  8. i learned Mastery is the experience of being in control of your world, and it is a fundamental component of resilience.
    Why does it matter?
Mastery is critical for success and well-being. Children who believe they have control are more likely to feel happy and experience less anxiety.
