Last night I actually got to bed early!! Like, 10:45 early. Woo hoo! (I guess that’s what a presidential debate will do for you…)
At what I thought was the wee hours of the night (but was actually only 11:45), I heard some coughing through the monitor – okay, lots of coughing. Two nights ago, this coughing was Burke and I had to wake him up to give him some meds. I hated to wake him up to give him the meds, but hey, a mom has to sleep too! So last night I just automatically assumed that it was Burke again. It SOUNDED like him…
Bleary eyed, I got up and got the meds, went into the twins’ room and again, woke Burke up just enough to shoot some meds into his mouth. . . at which time Maggie coughed. But only a little. With bleary head, I thought, “oh, she’s doing her typical ‘I see meds and I want some, so I’ll fake my little cough’ thing. Little drama queen!” And so went back into my room.
About 10 minutes later I hear more coughing…that sounds a lot less like Burke now. *sigh* Did I give the meds to the wrong kid??
Up again, more meds…go in and say “Maggie, I have medicine for you.” Her eyes pop open – as does her mouth. I shoot the meds into her mouth and hear “MMMM mmmm!” Eyes shut. LOL Perhaps I should try to get her into a Campbell’s Soup commercial…

Too funny! The boys always want the medicine when the other gets some. Is it wrong that I let the “well” baby suck the dropper after the “sick” baby takes the medicine?
I’m getting better at telling which kid is fussing/crying when I hear them from my bed but I’m not always right. Good to know this will continue for years to come!
You’ve made me feel SOOOO much better! My husband calls our Sarah “Liza” (as in Liza Minelli) because she loves her meds so much.
Hope all the coughing stops soon in your house….meds all around! π
I can NEVER tell which one is crying, coughing, etc. in the middle of the night The sound exactly alike and always have. Of course we sometimes we can’t tell them apart in the daylight, either. π
ha, I thought it was just my boys too. They always want medicine if the other does and occasionally I give in and just give them half a dose or less of tylenol and it makes them happy;)
Bee does this too! Sometimes she pretends that she has a sore throat, or headache, or some other ailment that can’t be easily verified, just so she can have grape-flavored Tylenol. I’m on to her though.
LOL! Love that she enjoys taking medicine! Miss Emma is like that too, like a little bird with her mouth hanging open when she sees the medicine dropper. LOL
Hope they feel better!
Oops, well, I am sure it didn’t do any harm.
