Various Happenings

Got Milk?

Maggie and I are the perfect pair for cereal. I’ll have a bowl of Cheerios and she’ll stand next to me, waiting (semi) patiently until I’m finished knowing that I won’t drink the milk when I’m done and she can have it – and glory of all glories, she can use the spoon to lap the sugary stuff up. The other day, right as she was diving in she declared, “I LO-OOVE milk!”

When Did I Become Mom?

I know when I became a mommy – but for the past two weeks or so, Burke’s been calling me “Mom.” And shortly thereafter, daddy became “Dad.” I knew this would happen, but I really wasn’t prepared for it so soon!

I Can Do That

True to being a little brother, Logan wants to do everything the twins do. Lately, he’s been able to climb in and out of his rocking chair – just like the big kids.

My Rear View Mirror

Hoo Boy. It’s been a while. Sorry!

Perfect Anniversary Date: Jon, you’d think that would have been taken when the Indian’s were winning, but it was such a great game, Mike had a good time even when the Sox were up

Interrupted Sleep: It’s so good to know that I’m not the only one! I mean, I figured – but it’s nice to verify that. Ooooh Rhonda! That’s great news – even if it isn’t true, I’m holding on to the idea that I’m preventing future night wake-ups 🙂 Silver, I’ve thought about getting a video monitor, but in the case of the twins, I’d still need to go in to put them into their beds, so I’d still be waking them up. And YIKES, sorry that yours are such light sleepers. Do they sleep with a noise maker on?

Dear Mass(hole) Drivers: Ooh, Jon – good point. I had forgotten that one. Gio – you might be right about point of view, and where the drivers come from. I grew up in VT, but I did live in NJ for a while. I still think MA is worse… Jim, I hadn’t thought about overseas drivers. I have to say, Ireland was scary for the crazy fast drivers on skinny little roads a cow could barely fit down, let alone two cars. And Germans – oy. One word: Autobahn. eek. Brazilians know the exact dimensions of their cars and squeak into the tiniest little spots. While driving. AACCK!

Sandwiches: Who knew this would be a hot topic – people sure are passionate about their food. Jon, I can’t believe I forgot about PB&H! And holy sweet – you mix fluff and honey?? And you’ve never had a roast beef and bacon sandwich? How long have we known each other?? LOL! Goddess – woah, PB&J*&*B? NICE. I may have to try that (with raspberry though 😉 ) Never got into the Gyro, Laura. Sorry… Cheryl, your kids just seem so…sophisticated. 🙂 Smoked Gouda slices on whole wheat. heh Grilled PB&J. Hmm. I’ve never tried that before, Heather. Interesting! Might have to give that a whirl. Gio, I’ve heard good things about Nutella, but I haven’t had that either. Missy – yup, fluff is that marshmallow gooey stuff. It’s good in hot chocolate – much better than regular marshmallows 🙂 Leave it to my brother to gross me out. Jim, PB&Pickles?? Blech. And to crack me up…sophisticated, huh? 😉What a Card. Grilled cheese and jelly, huh? I have to admit my first thought was BLECH! Cuz I was picturing that yellow American cheese stuff…but with a good cheddar, that’s probably pretty good. And sorry that your soybean butter is so costly – but at least your kids get a mock PB&J, right?

Last 15 songs: LOL thanks for singing to me Laura 🙂 And for some reason, Grannyfrani, I knew you’d like my list. I also knew that growing up in a household that had music humming from James Galway to Simon and Garfunkel to Anne Murray to classical to the Smothers Brothers and Tom Lehrer (all of which are on my iPod – well, except Anne…) would lead to a deep appreciation of all music.

  1. I never drink my milk from cereal either! How funny!

  2. Too funny! My daughter will dodge drinking her milk with breakfast and then pass me her cup “generously” for my coffee of cereal. (“Well, you need some, Mom!)

Love your rear mirror view…I’d have a hard time keeping my eyes on the road!

(Re: Sarah’s “sophisticated” palate…seems that way, but I think it’s more desperation to find proteins she’ll eat!)

  3. I don’t like the milk from my cereal either. I think it’s gross! But, my cat LOVES it.

  4. It’s amazing what a difference “Mom” vs. “Mommy” makes, isn’t it?!

    I hope everyone’s feeling better!

  5. I like how Logan’s feet are in second position.
    Oh….and gyros are yummy.

  6. Awww your twins are growing up, it’s a sad and happy time! 🙂

I can tell my kids are nearly the same age, we are outfitted the same with car seats only we have a truck so they are all in a row… ugg! 🙂

(as to my sleep issues, yup we have a fan on, that still doesn’t help! 🙂 Good luck getting yours to stay in bed!)
