These thoughts/tips jumble around in my head, so I figured I’d write ’em all down. I have no idea where most of them came from, why I have them in my head, or anything like that – I just know that they work 🙂
Laundry
- To get ink out of clothing, spray the area with hairspray and then run through the wash.
- If you have a super sensitive skin person in your family, and the “free” detergents aren’t truly cutting it, try putting the laundry through a second rinse as well.
“Beauty”
(Those of you who know me can stop laughing now… 😛 )
- If you use conditioner on your hair, don’t put it on the top of your head, just on the hair that is “loose” – if you start by your ears and work down, that works well. Why? Because the hair that’s ON your head (as apposed to around it) is oily enough and doesn’t need to be weighed down by the conditioner.
- To keep blemishes to a minimum, immediately after your hot shower, splash cold/cool water on your face. I started doing this waaaaay back when because I like really hot showers and the cold water would cool me off. Years later I was at a spa talking with the woman about face care and the like, and she said that this is most likely the reason my skin is fairly clear. Apparently, the hot water opens your pours to wash the dirt out, and rinsing in cool water closes them back up so the dirt can’t get back in.
- If you apply things to your face with a cotton ball, STOP! Cotton balls absorb whatever it is you’re trying to apply. Use one of those round beauty-type pads instead as this just brings the lotion/facial cleanser/etc to your face rather than suck it up.
