Another one of those “huh??” posts…we frequent a certain, let’s say, pastry shop (of the “Dippin'” kind) and usually hit the drive through so we can stay in the car with the kids and so it will supposedly be faster. Well, this morning we hit it after church and give our order. And then had to tell the girl at the window the order again. which she messes up. more than once. At least we were billed for what we actually got. *sigh* But here’s my complaint…why do they have that “talk to the scratchy speaker” thing at all if the person on the other end isn’t conveying this to the people getting the order together?? Why bring us false hope at all?
The other thing that this particular branch does that is not only annoying, but a wee bit DANGEROUS is to put butter and a plastic knife in the bagel bag when you ask for a bagel with butter. At the drive through. And I’m not even kidding. Uhm…have you ever TRIED to butter a bagel while driving?? I don’t recommend it.

OK a couple options for safely buttering your bagel:
Stop for a minute to do it.
If you have a passenger, let him/her do it for you (maybe not advisable to have the little ones do this for you yet).
Have you tried asking them to ‘pre-butter’ it for you?
And finally for real true driving safety, eating is not recommended while driving anyway.
Or you could ask Cathy to ask her old roommate Carrie for some driving multi-tasking tips. If I remember correctly she could eat, read and do various other things while driving. 🙂
Oh but I do agree about the scratchy intercom though!
See, that’s just too LOGICAL 😛
…and I’m usually alone when this happens…so yes, I usually have to stop – once I realize (remember) that the jerks didn’t butter it for me!!
This is why I end up eating donuts instead of a healthier option like a bagle – easier to eat without having to butter/cream cheese. I have asked them before and they will put it on for you if you ask (and they aren’t too busy).
P.S. Drive through is NEVER faster than going in. Husband and I learned that a few years ago. 🙂
